Great, thanks OhCanadiana! If we did decide to go, I would only be on a visitor visa - not working at all, so just vacationing.

Then no need to report a change in status since it's just temporary. (I assume that you'll leave everything in Canada intact (house/apartment, etc) ¡Buen viaje!

These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience. I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information. Good luck with your application! Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

Gracias! Yes everything would still be intact. The only difference would be is that I dont think my work would give me a leave of absence, would I have to notify the embassy about that if everything else remains in Canada?

You should. I would explain that everything else is intact, that you really don't want to spend time apart, why you chose to go to Mexico vs your husband waiting it out in Canada, plans for a new job when you get back, and plan to live off savings so there's no question about your ability to support yourselves. From reports on here, they seem to be asking a lot of questions in cases where folks move away from Canada. While they should alert you to any questions and give you a chance to respond and you can always ask them to reconsider or appeal, I would expect you don't want to extend the timeline with questions or waiting for the to get back to your app so I would give them more upfront to avoid questions should they decide to be picky.your job if they would consider the leave of absence or rehiring you upon return .... You may get lucky

Saludos! I am new in the forum and reading through the posts I have found the information to be very helpful. My husband and I are waiting for the PR application to be approved and I am wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes after the antecedentes have been sent to the embassy to hear about the next step? Does anyone know what is the next step? Just a note, the embassy requested that my husband send close up fotos of his tattoos and descriptions of what they mean... I am wondering if it is advisable, if one has tattoos, to send this information with the initial application? Also, if you would like to add our information to the spreadsheet, here is is: Medical sent: September 6, 2011 Application received: September 30, 2011 Sponsorship Approved: December 7, 2011 AOR email received: January 26, 2012 PGR certificates received at embassy: March 26, 2012 Last week we were asked to resubmit our official receipt of payment...we had already sent it...I hope this is the only thing they lost and that maybe it is just a final check before requesting his passport. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The doctor probably reported it on the medical. Tattoos can be a problem if they seem in any way gang related.

I would think regarding the tattoo's they are probably making sure they are not narco related, its an interesting question though if you should submit them in the intial app or not, I am not sure. It sounds to me like you are on yout way for the passport request but I wouldnt be sure since I am at the beginning of the process but there are definately some people here that can help !

Personally I would not report tattoos. This can cause a delay. The dr didn't report my husbands.

Or from photos or from an interview, I dont think that is something that would go into the medical report
