My brother in law needs to get his Mexican birth certificate translated. They sent his federal skilled worker  application back because he didn't and now he has to wait until July 1 because cook was capped.  where can he get it translated? He is in California.

I think he would have to find a certified translator. Thats where we had to go to get an affidavit that we needed translated..its expensive though lol hopefully you can find something cheaper than us!!!

They should be able to to have a friend translate it and fill out an affidavit.

I just confirmed that is still the case in the guide:

"Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable."

I wish him lucky; may chefs stay on the list for June!

As long as they aren't a family member, they can translate it for you and you can get them to sign an affidavit Smiley  If you go with a certified translator, you don't need the affidavit Smiley

Yay! We just got our official AOR!! They have requested the following documents:

-Original Police Certificates from the following:
   - Mexico/PGR (informe de datos registrales)
   - Estado de Mexico

-Completion of Schedule A

For the police certificates, they have given us 60 days to present them. But for the Schedule A, we only have 15 days to present. We better get crackin'!
Hi!!
My fiancé got an email today requesting the same documents (PGR + State police certificate + FBI police clearance).
It was pretty quick, I'm surprised  Grin
Only one problem though: the link, which is supposed to send us to the procedure needed to get the PGR's informe de datos registrales, doesn't work. Could you share the link/information you got on that? Thanks!!

Congrats on getting the letter!  Looks like they are getting some work done in the mexico office...let´s hope this means faster processing times for everyone.  Cheesy

Here is a website I found with the requirements for PGR:

http://embamex.sre.gob.mx/canada/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=169&Itemid=41

Does anyone know if it´s up to date?

Memexico, if they are asking you for the "informe de datos registrales" (your partner resides outside of Mexico), the the website is as follows:

How long did it take them to send this email? In other words how long had your app been in Mexico?
