If he actually obtains a entry visa, I doubt they will ask anything @ customs (I have researched this a million times, my SO has entered twice on his TRV, most recently together two days ago when we returned from Mexico!) Just bring proof you will be applying for PR, go through together, talk on his behalf and say in case anything happens you will support him, make sure he has an return ticket to Mexico, just in case.. it is highly unlikely they will ask though, especially the first time entering the country.
P.S I drove my poor friend itscoezy crazy about that! hehe, what would I do without you!
LOL I'm just getting caught up from all the new posts. Love this mc1234

I just read in another thread that a UK citizen who is living as a visitor in Canada is going for her interview in New York. So I'm not sure a Mexican would have to go back to Mexico.

If my SO could go for an interview here in Canada even though he is applying from Mexico City, that would just be fantastic! Hopefully if an interview is needed, something like that could be worked out..

I've seen spreadsheets for people applying from other countries. Has anyone done one for Mexican applicants? I'm curious to see the timelines.

No one has done a spreadsheet for Mexico (as far as I know) but a lot of people have their time lines under their name.. From what I see, most right now (if the case is straight forward) are taking 6 months.

Thank you. Do you think the fact that we were already approved for a PR in 2010 will help speed up our case? I wrote a letter explaining why we couldn't move before it expired.

Hmm, possibly.. I personally don't know so I don't want to give you any bad advice, but maybe someone with a similar situation could chime in!

It's probably rare anyone here let a visa expire.

Apparently there's an ARC required for people deported from Canada regardless how long ago it was... I understand that from a thread further down the page, titled "ARC in family class sponsorship for parents and grandparents"... I hope that doesn't apply to Spousal sponsorship too. And indeed, airfare from the deportation will have to be reinbursed as well... talk about milking the cow... but in the end, re-unification is priceless, missmymexi...
Hmmm, something to look in too, I will ask my lawyer if we will need the ARC, I was assuming it was only needed if he wanted to return before he is allowed to. And yes, they do love to milk the cow, but like you said, it will be priceless and in the long run a small part of our life and our finances in the grand scheme of it all, well worth it as far as i am concerned !

ARC applies to anyone who was ever deported.

hello everyone......
i was wondering if anyone can help me..... i guess i should start from the beginning me and my husband got marry a year ago, in the states,he had to leave the states to start his paperwork in mexico.. when he got to mexico he did his medical and we collected all his police clearances but when we went to drop it off at the (PGR) it was refused because my husband doesn't have a "cartilla militar". he has apply for the cartilla militar but he will not get it untill a year from january. we requested an extension, but our extension has expire, i left an email to the canadian embassy explaining my situation, i know they have receive it but i have had no response from them, i guess i feel frustrated because i m scare that they might refuse my application and i don't know what to do..... please if anybody can tell me or help me i would be very thankful.

Your husband should go get his precartilla.. takes a week or less to get, and you can get the PGR with it
