The witnesses need to be here ,, meaning my witnesses here in Canada or my moms in Mexico ? ,  I was able to get a blank power of attorney online and I will send it to her by fed ex with the finger prints and the photos.

witnesses don't need to be present, all they need to do is sign the letter and provide you with their name and address and a photocopy of an official ID

Have u done your carta antecedentes penales? or waiting on the to request it ?

done it, but mine was a constancia. If it's the constancia you need to be there because a representative of the PGR needs to check out your physical structure, facial features, along with finger and full hand prints.

If they asked you for the informe, I would just do what they say, nothing more nothing less.

this is what the embassy said in regards to my case.

"The applicant has provided his police certificates and his fingerprints in order to obtain the certificate from the federal police (PGR) in Mexico"

I dont want to wait 2-3 months for them to get it , so im trying to send my mom to mexico city , but what exactly does my mom will ask for ?

I did! I sent a simple one, with my signature, my husband's signature as a witness, and a photocopy of our ID's. My mother signed her part in Mexico and took it like that. We didn't notarize it/legalize it. They accepted it like that, it was no big deal.

We went to see our MP on friday , she said she will send an email to the embassy in Mexico , to let them know that the Medicals have been done, and for them to request them from ottawa.

On the PGR report she is asking them when they ( The embassy ) request the police report to PGR and if they would take one mine if im able to get it thru my mom.


Could you share if how to get the carta poder ? i was reading some on their page and it needs a bunch of stuff ? signatures , witnesses etc.

This is what I use to pick up the letter you can add or change whatever you thinks works for you or check other letters online, you alson need to add a copy of Id  from both sides of you the person you give the power and the 2 witnesses good luck.

Hi I just married in mexico with a Canadian citizen and im getting all my pappres can somebody help me out to let me know what do i need to do with my acta de matrimonio, im confuse do i have just to ask for a copy in the registro civil and then take it to traslate or i need to send it to de embassy?' thanks so much im desperate for help!!

hello wooera, congratulations!

you do need copies from the civil registry as you will have to send an original in Canada. All of your papers will be sent to Mississauga first for processing, so you need to take a copy of your marriage certificate with you, take it to translate and notarize in Canada

We got a response back from the Embassy in Mexico city , they want to wait for the request they sent , i offered to get it myself but this was their response :

Since Mr. XXX XXXXX is in Canada, our office has already requested the results on his behalf directly to the PGR. At this point, the applicant has nothing else to provide. We will contact him once all the results are on file.



they don't say yes or not to my offer ja ja ja, per my MP for us to wait a month and see if they get the report from PGR

Hi Thanks for you answer , but i still don´t have it clear im going to apply outland and i get married in Guadalajara, DO I NEED TO SEND MY MARRIEGE CERTIFICATE TO THE EMBAJADA OF CANADA IN MEXICO ? OR TAKE IT TO THE CONSULATE HERE IN GUADALAJARA? or just send a copy translate ofr a official Perito traductor?? I dont know what to do somebody that already send his papers ?

send a photo copy of the "acta" with the translation to Mississauga (when applying outland)  with the rest of the application just like is says in the Latin America regional guide.  (No Embassy no consulate)
