These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience. I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information. Good luck with your application! Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

Hi all. Just popping in to say we had communication from the embassy today after a lengthy, painful silence. The message itself is not particularly illuminating, but the wording is different than the usual "your application is in process, don't call us, we'll call you" type deal. This time it says: "Your application is in queue for review. An exact review schedule is not yet available however, all applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received. No further action is required by you at this time. We will contact you as soon as we are ready to proceed to the next stage of processing or if we need additional documents and/or information. We thank you for your patience." Hoping this is code for "final review". Grasping at straws? Maybe. But we'll take it. Will let you know when we know. Good luck everybody.

Welcome back, Mrs. Romero!. Crossing my fingers it's good news and that they liked his tattoos. Was watching the other day a doc on NatGeo about prisons in the US where they show all the diff. tattoos all those guys have which are an association to a gang... They even have a catalog of them!. Perhaps that's why they were enquiring about it?. Making sure there are no affiliations on applicants to gangs and stuff?.

The "funny" thing is that it was the letters under the design (a simple gang-free tribal ) that was under scrutiny regarding meaning -- my husband's first and last name initials. Which were INCORRECTLY written down in the doctor's notes and had to be photographed to show that yes, that is "R" for Romero, and not "B" for whatever. Which in turn had us googling "what's the big hairy deal about initials?" Which led to all sorts of interesting tidbits. Gawd. To say that we've learned more than we ever wanted to know about tattoo catalogues would be an understatement to be sure.

For sure!. I'm glad it's all straighten out and tattoo has no criminal gang affiliations, Mrs. Romero. I hope you get a speedy and successful completion to your process... You just made me remember how long mine was (16 months "only", but better than 2 plus years for other processes) and how sweet the end of the tunnel was for us. You will enjoy it too!. Rob.
