Makes sense. They never reported my SO's either. His is nothing bad, but still! I really wouldnt want something like that to cause a delay. The best news I heard all day is sponsor approval is now taking 82 days Smiley

Wahooo, I know, I am very excited and they are working on February now which means 9 days have been eliminated in one week (since they were last working on apps from Jan 17, counting business days) Lets hope they make this kind of progress every week !

Bienvenido! Smiley

I am curious, how does the embassy know your husband has tattoos?

The embassy knows about his tattoos because inevitably they are visible in all our fotos if he is wearing short sleeves... also my husband mentioned it is a question on the medical; I assume they were reported by the doctor as well.  I understand why they are asking about them but I hope they don't cause a delay, they are all art related to original Mexican gods.

Oh okay! Did you send in a letter of explanation with the original PR application?

Hello and welcome Smiley I have added your info to spreadsheet. I would think regarding the tattoo's they are probably making sure they are not narco related, its an interesting question though if you should submit them in the intial app or not, I am not sure. It sounds to me like you are on yout way for the passport request but I wouldnt be sure since I am at the beginning of the process but there are definately some people here that can help !

Thanks!! Best of luck to you:)

I would think that it wouldnt delay things to badly, its an inconvienance, but i would think they just want it on file, like with the police report, in canada if you are arrested they take photo's of tattoo's for their databases to indentify people, I am sure its some what of the same thing. Since they noticed them they want to have them on file, my assumption anyway. I have plenty of tattoo's but may fiance doesnt so we never had that hurdle. I sure hope it goes quickly for you, you must be biting your nails being so close to the end of this process !

No, I never imagined they would ask for the pictures or explanations. They sent him and email asking for it around the same time as they sent the request for the PGR certificates.

The tattoo thing totally threw me off... his have well known cultural significance so they are nothing to be concerned about.  The anticipation is a bit overwhelming!!  I have been staying in Mexico since I was approved as a sponsor so it hasn't been horrible like it was waiting for approval of sponsorship while I stayed in Canada working a job I hated just to be approved, quit and come back to Mexico while we waited... now I'm just looking forward to being back in Canada so we can put down some roots finally!  I have a job offer for August so hopefully he will be able to come with me before that starts.

You have a smart way of thinking. I am seriously considering doing the same. You will get it soon Smiley What type of Visa are you in Mexico with?

And tattoos can cause a major security clearance delay. But it depends on the tattoo.

It has made waiting a lot more tolerable. I am here on a visitor's permit, the 6 month permission they give you when you land.

Saludos! Grin

I am new in the forum and reading through the posts I have found the information to be very helpful. My husband and I are waiting for the PR application to be approved and I am wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes after the antecedentes have been sent to the embassy to hear about the next step? Does anyone know what is the next step?

Just a note, the embassy requested that my husband send close up fotos of his tattoos and descriptions of what they mean... I am wondering if it is advisable, if one has tattoos, to send this information with the initial application?

Also, if you would like to add our information to the spreadsheet, here is is:

Medical sent: September 6, 2011
Application received: September 30, 2011
Sponsorship Approved: December 7, 2011
AOR email received: January 26, 2012
PGR certificates received at embassy: March 26, 2012

Last week we were asked to resubmit our official receipt of payment...we had already sent it...I hope this is the only thing they lost and that maybe it is just a final check before requesting his passport. Any thoughts?

Thanks! Wink

Hi margarita esperanza!  How long did it take you to get the letter for the PGR once they sent the AOR?  I have been waiting for it to come in the mail since they sent it on April 9th!

Did you ever notify the embassy that you quit your job?
