Not necessarily.... Though I've read that a Passport Request will certainly mean that the interview was waived.

In my case I was asked for an interview before the PGR document, so that probably means that it could've been waived.

Stay positive!

I will try! Hoping for no interview since were already in Canada, but if we are called for one we will make it work! What are the main reason they call for an interview?

Concerns regarding the relationship, whether the applicant entered into the marriage to gain a benefit under the immigration act.

I guess the best we can do is keep collecting proof of our relationship, just in case!

OhCanadiana, once again, you've been a tremendous help!!! THANK YOU Cheesy

Alright, so all my questions were answered regarding the IMM 1344 form Smiley
Btw, Yes I am a Canadian citizen, born & raised in Québec, and moved to Mexico in October 2011 to live with my husband, and am not splitting my time between Mexico & Québec.  I only intend on moving back to Québec with my husband, once the sponsorship is approved.

Now for the IMM 5540 form... Ohh boy, more questions...

Question #7  "Starting with your current employer, if applicable, give details of all employers you have worked for over the past five years" ...Yikes, I do not remember the 1st day of work for any of my jobs!  Can I provide only the month + year?

Question #8  "Have you resided in countries other than Canada?" ...Err, only Mexico as of October 2011... so "From" will be 06/10/11 and "To" will be ?!?!  There's no option for the word "present" Huh

Question #11  "When do you plan to return to Canada to resume residency?" ...It's asking me for an exact date, but truth is: I only plan on moving back with my husband once his sponsorship is approved... So which date should I write down?

Question #11  "Where do you plan to live upon your return to Canada?"  Jeez, do I really have to have a new Québec address already?!?

Question #11  "Provide proof of your intention to re-establish in Canada" ...I've got SQUAT!  Huh  I mean, there's just no way I'm gonna find myself a new apartment + a new job before even applying for the sponsorship and while being out of the country!  That's just not realistic!

And finally, my last question... is the IMM 5540 form the one where I have to attach all the printed pictures + printed emails + printed MSN conversations + relationship support letters, etc etc?  And will I need to re-submit all of that same stuff (pics, emails, etc) to Québec...or will the Federal forward it to Québec?

Don't know the answers to all your questions.. but when I wanted to write Present I just left it blank and then wrote in present myself.

For your return to Canada.. I think that's really important to prove you have plans to return. One of the reasons we returned to Canada was that I didn't feel I had enough evidence to prove we would return.  Could you get letters from family saying they fully support your move home? Anything will really help I think they give you a list of things you can submit.

Goodluck!

If you don't remember the day, put an * for day and add an explanatory note.   Try to go back and see if you can figure out the day (from e-mails perhaps).
Question #8  "Have you resided in countries other than Canada?" ...Err, only Mexico as of October 2011... so "From" will be 06/10/11 and "To" will be ?!?!  There's no option for the word "present". Huh
Yes, welcome to the wonderful world of completing applications by hand Smiley  You will have many 'present' to write in and many 'n/a's to write in when you go to sign.
Question #11  "When do you plan to return to Canada to resume residency?" ...It's asking me for an exact date, but truth is: I only plan on moving back with my husband once his sponsorship is approved... So which date should I write down??
* for the date and explain (write your explanation above just to the right of where it asks for the date)
Question #11  "Where do you plan to live upon your return to Canada?"  Jeez, do I really have to have a new Québec address already?!?
Best guess to the city - I don't believe they ask for the full address
Question #11  "Provide proof of your intention to re-establish in Canada" ...I've got SQUAT!  Huh  I mean, there's just no way I'm gonna find myself a new apartment + a new job before even applying for the sponsorship and while being out of the country!  That's just not realistic!
Got it.  And many sponsors would agree.   Unfortunately, you need to be a bit more diplomatic with CIC and show what thought you've put into this.   Write an explanatory note showing that you've thought about how you are moving out of Mexico and back to Canada.  Where are you staying when you arrive?  Hotel, family, friends   Are you moving your furniture or selling it?   I'm sure you've put some thought into it .... now just communicate it.

And finally, my last question... is the IMM 5540 form the one where I have to attach all the printed pictures + printed emails + printed MSN conversations + relationship support letters, etc etc ??  And will I need to re-submit all of that same stuff (pics, emails, etc) to Québec...or will the Federal forward it to Québec??
Many people simply have a separate section with all the proof (since they ask for it both from sponsor and applicant forms).  Regarding submission requirements to Québec ... someone else is going to have to chime in if the instructions aren't clear.  I'm not familiar with the Québec sponsorship specifics.

Usually that is correct.   Procedurally, visa offices have to call for quality assurance interviews randomly and can do so at any time (to check for 'fake' docs).   But, once the background and security checks start, the probability is very very low so rest easy Smiley

You're asking the wrong person Bcmom72 Tongue

My interview was on March 2010, I was denied and I had to appeal and take their behinds to the Immigration Appeal Division, I just won my appeal on January 2012, and haven't heard anything yet. Based on what I've been reading here, it normally doesn't take more than two months.

:/ Thats awful, I wonder whats going on.. :S At this rate we will have to go wait it out in Mexico. Is that even possible for us to do?

We have had the same conversation lately, debating if I should go to Mexico and wait some of this out, we have been apart 9 months already, with our two year anniversary coming up this thursday, and we are looking at another year and half apart according to time lines, just crazy !
