Hi!! Thanks for the link, but my partner lives in Mexico, so apparently it's another procedure.. I guess we'll need to wait for CIC's link!!

Hi!! Thanks for the link, but my partner lives in Mexico, so apparently it's another procedure.. I guess we'll need to wait for CIC's link!! If you live in Mexico then you need a 'constancia de datos registrales' from the PGR. You'll need to wait to get a letter from the Embassy of Canada in Mexico requesting it (the PGR needs an original request from a government entity) and then take it along with ID, comprobante de domicilio, cartilla, acta de nacimiento, photos, and proof of payment to the PGR to make the request. They will process the request and send you to get your prints taken and then your partner can pick it up 10 days later. The details are available at http://www.pgr.gob.mx/Servicios/Constancia/antecedentes%20registrales.asp so your partner can start collecting everything else while you wait for the letter.

These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience. I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information. Good luck with your application! Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

How long did it take them to send this email? In other words how long had your app been in Mexico?
Hi You can see my speadsheet at the bottom of my message:) It took less than a month to get this email. Our application was at the VO since February, but they only start analyzing it after receiving the CSQ/Quebec's approval, which they received on March 22. Hoping everything else will be as quick:)

Has anyone contacted the embassy through email lately? It's been officially 3 months since my appeal was allowed and 2 months since they sent out the written decision, so yesterday I sent an email asking them if there were any news regarding my case. I got the confirmation and it just said they would reply as soon as possible, before when I used to send emails, in the confirmation it would tell me that they would reply within 20 business days. Just wondering if any of you have sent them emails recently and how long it took for them to reply. Thanks!

I have a problem everyone! My brother in law's application for a skilled worker visa was returned because he didn't get his Mexican birth certificate translated. I helped him with his app so I feel terrible. But the thing is when I got my husband a PR in 2010 (that we had to let expire) I did NOT translate his Mexican birth certificate and we got his PR in less than 3 months. I didn't translate it this time - it never crossed my mind since it is so easy to understand and nothing else needed to get translated. What should I do? Should I get it translated and mail it to the VO with my husband's old client ID? Wait until sponsorship and then mail it? Or should I just not worry about it since it wasn't an issue the first time around....thanks.

I would send it in.. they state it right on the region specific guide that any documents you send in need to be translated into English.. IMO I wouldn't take that risk and send it in, just me two cents though!

I don't know why they didn't say anything the first time.

Great! It sure beats the weeks I normally had to wait a few years ago! Hopefully they'll reply quickly so I can move on with whatever might be the next step

I emailed them on April.6th and am still waiting for a response. I did see after i messaged them something about 21 days for a response, but i honsetly dont know where i saw that... I looked in the email and it doesn't say 3 weeks unless i deleted the other confirmation that said 3 weeks...

hey guys!
I have some questions about the constancia from PGR.
1)I imagine it will be in Spanish right? So do I need to get it translated before sending it to the embassy?
2) When we go to pick it up, can we just head on over to the embassy and drop it off in person or do we have to send it by mail?

Hey nessa, I dont know the answer to question one (but would love to find out the answer) but for number two, I am pretty sure I read a few pages back that you can pick it up and then drop it off at the embassy during the times that they are open Whats the wait time for the PGR right now?
