A little off topic, but since most you are also going back and forth from Mexico, I am curious what people use to get cheap flights and any advice on cheap travel to Mexico. I am looking at PV and GDL (which ever i can get to cheaper !). But post regardless as I am sure other people are curious too and Mexico is a big country ! So far I have been using Redtag and expedia ...

I'm a little late seeing this post lol and haven't read everyone's responses...I always go with WestJet, they have always been the cheapest (I fly into Puerto Vallarta)  My flights have ranged for 99 for one way to 350.  Most often times though my dates are flexible and so I normally wait until really close to when I leave because the flights always drop I find.
Where are you flying from?

I am flying from Vancouver, Westjet does seem to be the main airline out of Vancouver to PV, I have seen some decent flights but i cant be as flexible because I have a child I share custody with, so it has to be on the weeks I do not have her, makes things a little harder to grab a deal sometimes.

Yeah it's definitely tough for sure if you need specific dates.  I'll keep an eye out for you as I'm always on westjet's website lol.  I fly from Vancouver-PV or from Comox-PV usually. It's nice that there are so many direct flights too.

You can fly to PV from comox ! I am assuming you transfer in Vancouver.... Thank you, I will do the same, I am constantly checking them out for hopes of landing the super deal, lol ! I really want to go to PV just to be by the ocean, but i think next visit I will have to do GDL since thats where all the family is, but there is no such thing as direct flight to GDL, I think I may fly to PV and then take a bus to GDL, may be easier and only $60... weighing my options Smiley

Actually Comox-PV is direct, depending on the day and the time of year.  All my flights from Comox to PV though have been direct. =D  They normally do transfers in Calgary or edmonton if there is a transfer.  Some are just to load more passengers and don't take long at all, and others are overnight.
From what I've seen though, most direct flights from Comox are Saturday and only in the high season. Smiley It works perfect for me cuz my family is in Courtenay and I live just 45 minutes from PV.

If you fly into PV and take the Primus Plus bus to GDL it's cheaper if u buy the ticket online : http://secure.primeraplus.com.mx/FAPWEB/Default.aspx?alias=secure.primeraplus.com.mx/fapweb/primeraplus
it works out to $333 Pesos for the trip. Smiley

Wow thats crazy ! I had no idea you could go right from Comox, that will make it easy on my island family once we get married in PV !! oh thanks for the tip on the bus, that is SUPER cheap ! hmm, I am thinking that may be the most economical way to do it, since flights to PV are far cheaper, and maybe we can sneak a day or two in well we are there, we found the most awesome secret beach all to ourselves about 40 mins from PV, with all the rain in Vancouver its been in my dreams lately ! Hoping to go in the next month before it heats up to much down there !

Yeah it's super nice to fly straight from Comox, and really Vancouver is about 50 dollars or so more expensive than the comox flights the majority of the time which once you add in ferry and transit costs etc etc, it works out to be the same if they live on the island.

I wanna know about your secret beach! lol.  Does it have ridiculous waves!?? I hate the waves here, it makes it impossible to go swimming.  We've found a couple in Nayarit though.  If you wanna go to a nice beach guayabitos is amazing Smiley

Ok really off topic lol.
When u guys have dates and start looking for flights let me know and I'll keep an eye out.

Does anyone know what a "Divorce Court Order" is, or what this document is actually called in Spanish? (Not just the direct translation)
It says I need a divorce court order issued by the family judge.

Or does anyone know how to obtain one?

We have a divorce certificate from the registro civil, but we don't have a divorce court order and not sure where to start.

Thanks so much,
Shelly

¡Hola y'all!
I'm new here but I'm sooo Smiley to find other people waiting on an answer
from Mexico City!
Here's my situation: I'm sponsoring my Mexican common law partner.
I'm in the province of Quebec and he's still in Mexico Sad

Here's my spreadsheet:
-Mississauga received our application on Dec. 28 2011
-I got accepted as a sponsor on February 15 2012
-I received our Certificat d'acceptation du Québec on March 22 2012

Our application was sent to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico city around that time
and now we're waiting and crossing our fingers it won't take 13 months!!
I'll keep reading around and see who else is in my situation!
