Hey guys me again with a question. Do any of you know how can my wife find out who's her minister? Someone mentioned to me here that the minister could help in putting pressure to the embassy, is this true? So, to simplify: 1.- How can I find out who's my sponsor's minister? 2.- How much can he weigh in on immigration matters? Thanks! Edgar Hey Edgar, I don't know about the minister, but she can get her MP (member of parliament) in the city/town where she lives to inquire on immigration matters. I did this last summer and they spoke directly to immigration about my file and were able to provide me more details as to what was going on. She would just have to google the MP that is responsible for her area.

(I think) LOL I believe I had heard something like that. but just vaguely so I was thinking minister for some reason, it might possibly be what you said. Thanks

Well today my son in law had his interview in Mexico City! He had three females in the room, 2 interviewers and one translator. The translator was optional in all interviews he said, and he was asked what language he would like to be interviewed in, he chose English. He said the interviewers were super nice, and asked the basic questions. He was told at the end that they believed the relationship was genuine, and they would now email him instructions about his passport!!

Awesome news! Sounds a bit more organized and positive then some of the other experiences we've read about coming from Mexico City! Do you know what basic questions they asked? Just regular ones like how did they meet, how long have they known eachother etc?

Yes questions such as how did you meet, how do you communicate, who from Canada was at the wedding, where and when was the wedding, what does your wife do for work, how often do you see her, where is she right now....they had a positive reaction when he told them that she was in the waiting room and has been living with him in Cancun for the past 6 months...

Big congratulations, mom!. It's great to hear about good experiences from the Mexico City embassy.. I'm sure it will be very hard for them not to miss Cancun once they move to Canada... but they can always go back and at least on vacation..
