I am applying for PR from Canada through Buffalo VO... when and if they send me Medical request, what tests are usually done for this request?  I know there is xray, but what else?

Hi Becksterd,

I dont know if this would help. I did my medicals in India. I assume the list of tests should be standard accross countries since the purpose is the same. I have given below the list of tests they conducted for me.

1. Blood Test
2. Urine Test
3. Stool Test
4. Eye/Vision Test
5. Hearing Test
6. Chest X-Ray
7. General check up by a physician

question asked during the physician's examination
1. Have you had any major surgeries?
2. Have you suffered from any serious diseases like typhoid/cjaundice etc in the last 6 months?
3. Do you suffer from any chronic conditioons such as Hypertension/Blood Pressure/Thyroid etc?
4. Do you have any specific medical condition which requires regular medical treatment in a hospital or clinic?

thats all. Hope this helps

All the Best & God Bless

Dear All,

I was not told to take stool test and the blood test was only one ampoule for checking JUST Syphilis and HIV.

I'm confused why are these differences? Is it possible that Paris VO don't ask for general blood test or I misunderstood and 'Blood test' always had to be understood as Syphilis and HIV test ONLY??? Pls, the one who know that answer!

It was 150 Euros without cost of the tests and x-ray for 2 people. I always thought it is 150 each. How much it was for you? I didn't get any invoice of this 150 Euro but I will get of the test and x-ray. Shouldn't I get invoice of the 150 Euros as well?

I appreciate anyone who is kind to answering me:)

I'm a bit concerned as the doctor didn't speak too much in English, so maybe this is the reason I felt this process confusing....

Thank you!

There was a great thread started by Shibuya "Waiting for medicals upgrade yourself".  The following link was included and gives you EXACTLY the information you are looking for.  Hope it helps. http://www.numberonehealth.co.uk/dynamicdata/file/CanadianMedicalReportForms.pdf

Hi Alias,

Thank you for shearing your experience. Let me ask you, did the doctor looked into your ears? Did he ask you to read letters from a distance to check your vision? If none of them then you really escaped such tests:) Good and interesting that there are such differences. Did you blood was examined for sugar, white/red blood cells etc. or only for HIV and Syphilis? How much the whole medical cost?

Look for your reply.
Thanks:)

Hi, there was test no related to the ears or reading from a distance, though I have glasses. 2 ampules of blood were taken - so I think along with HIV/syphilis they tested for the normal blood test also - blood cell count, sugar etc.

I took the test in US and it cost USD550

Thnx,

Hi Alias,

Thanks for reply.

It's so odd... we were taken 1 ampule only. I don't see how they work.

To DestinationBC:

I have never heard they would testing thyroid either.
In your experience is it normal to test the blood only for Syphilis and HIV or our doctor may forgot the others?
