Can anyone share experiences of how long it took for their parents to get over to Canada after having medicals done?  Mine go tomorrow, but just wondering how long it will be before we find out if they can come or not?

Are you aware of this?

To prevent the build-up of an unmanageable number of new applications during these consultations and to further reduce the 165,000-strong backlog of parent and grandparent applicants, CIC is putting in place a temporary pause of up to 24 months on the acceptance of new sponsorship applications for parents and grandparents. The pause comes into effect on November 5, 2011.

Hi

Doesn't apply to the OP has their application was filed way in advance of Novembers announcement, it is for new applications.  If the parents are going for medical, via London, then according to Trackitt, they are looking at about 3/4 months for a passport request.
