Hey everyone,
I'm going outland (while in Canada) and I had my medicals done last week. The Dr gave me a piece of paper and said this is what I need to send with my app, but it does not say medical report section A on it. It's just a paper with my photo on it and it says my information and the Drs name and signature. Was anybody else given just this? Did she give me the wrong thing?

I did not get section A, I am guessing, that is what they send to visa office on your behalf. The DR should be filling that part out and you aren't to know your results unless something is wrong that they medically should tell you about, or you are not permitted/are accepted - you'll know you pased or failed.

I am not certain about Outland medicals but I believe you are supposed to receive "Copy 2" of section A while the doctor sends that off to Ottawa, I believe. I will keep looking for you.  |

Thanks for helping back that info up.  I didn't want to not reply but I didn't want to give a bad answer either. I don't actually know what the form looks like though so it is helpful you do. I would call the doctor to confirm if you can just to be safe. |

Well, I should clarify that the doctor sends the results to the regional medical centre responsible for your region -- which may or may not be Ottawa. I'm just so used to saying Ottawa that it was the first thing that came to mind when I first replied. Either way, I have heard of a few people who applied outland without copy 2, just with an official receipt as proof of having done their medicals, and they did alright. But I'd still try to confirm that either what you have is the copy 2, OR that you can get one from the doctor if it isn't. Just in case.

the IMM 1017 has medical report-section A on top
it has your information on it, its signed by the DMP and is green and white. and you picture is stamped with a maple leaf.

the outland one is different to the inland one as they do not get the IMM form like the outland applicants do. so take no notice of that form, the form that you should have given to the DMP is Appendix C they then take some of that information from that and is transfered to the IMM form that you will get. |

I got something that did say Medical Report- Section A, afterall. It was bugging me I had to go find what my paper looked like.
