Hey, I'm sponsoring my husband. We're in the Feb thread, Buffalo Outland. I'm already approved as a sponsor, but our file has been received in Buffalo on March 11th, beyond that no updates, no progress.

My question  - we got the medicals done last year, fairly early, as we thought we'd be sending the application in sooner than we did. The FBI and State clearances are fine, but I'm a bit worried about the medical now expiring before Buffalo get to the application.

It expires June 29th 2011.

Because of Buffalo's... less than ideal pace, I'm wondering if we should just go ahead and get another medical done, just in case? I'm worried that it will expire, and I'm not sure if they give extensions or if they'd ask for another medical.

If we should get another one, where would we mail it? To Mississauga or to Buffalo?

Any insight would be so greatly appreciated.

If processing lasts beyond the one year anniversary of the medical, Buffalo will ask him to re-do and send the appropriate forms for him to take to the DMP.  The validity of medicals is not extended.  I am not certain how different the re-medical request form is from the regular medical form.  If it is no different, then you could go ahead and re-do without waiting for the first one to expire.  You'd need to ask in the Buffalo thread if anyone has received a request to re-do meds and how it proceeded.
