Is medical examinations must for doing course in canada?

I live in India.

What are the medical examinations that have to be done?

What would be the cost of tests in India approximately?

Can we take the tests voluntarily ourselves or should we undergo test only if the visa office ask us to do so ?

Do I need to take tests from these Designated Doctors only or from any Medical Test Laboratory in India ?

When you are going to stay more than 6 months, you need the test.
You cannot take the test voluntarily, you only can take the test when you are asked to do so by the embassy.
You have to take the test only from the designated centers.

1. Indian Students can take medical examination upfront.

"A medical exam will be required for study program exceeding 6 months. Study permit applicants
can undergo Up-Front Medical examinations, per instructions below. Please note that completing
an up-front medical examination does not guarantee the issuance of a study permit and that costs
for an up-front medical will not be reimbursed by our office if a study permit is refused."

Detail is mentioned in these checklist:

http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/pdf/Student_Partners_Program_(SPP)_in_india_190412.pdf

2. Only Designated Medical Practitioners (DMPs) can medically examine you. You can find DMP here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?CountryID=1995&CountryName=India

3. Note: It is not mandatory to complete a medical examination prior to submission of your application. However, doing so may result in faster processing.

4. Indian friends can tell you about the cost. But it costs PKR 3550 here in Pakistan.
