MEDICAL STATUS CHANGE AFTER VISA ISSUE

Hi,

My parents have been isued landing papers (i sponsored them under family sponsorship). unfortuntely my fathers medical condition has worsened and he may not be in a position to come to canada. i have two questions.

1. could my mother come to canada without my father (father is the principal applicant).

2. do we have to inform the change in my fathers medical condition to the visa office. will it affect his visa status. how serious would it be if we withhold this information and my father lands in canada and takes his permanent residency.
