I think that this is just sad. For the people who worked at the office in Regina but also for the people who live there and need walk-in information about immigrating to Canada.

Citizenship and Immigration to close Regina office; only Saskatoon office left

Citizenship and Immigration Canada is closing its Regina office, leaving the province with only one centre in Saskatoon.

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said after a speech in Regina that the department needs to reduce its footprint, overhead and administration costs.

Kenney says services will be available online or through a call centre.

He also says a third-party could be used to administer things such as language tests.

An official with Citizenship and Immigration Canada confirms that seven of the 10 jobs in Regina will be eliminated and three will be transferred to Saskatoon.

The closure is expected to take place June 1.

Hi,

Status changed to Decision Made and fourth line "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision." has been added.
What does it mean?

Hi All
Need some much needed advice please.
The ppr email says for me to send payment, photos etc to Detroit. Is it possible for me to bypass this by going down to a border crossing at Coutts , Alberta? What would i need for this i.e payment etc.
BTW my email was in my junk mail, i have had many emails from Buffalo this was the first to end up in there. Take note.

My suggestion would be that if you prefer, you will have to go to Detroit in person to get your passport stamped on the same day. Only when you get it stamped can you land at any port of entry. Otherwise you will have to mail your passport and all the other requested documents to Detroit. And you can probably send it by UPS, FedEx or Xpresspost.

If you have a visitor's visa to the US then you can go to Detroit in person to have the passport stamped, but it's also a good idea to mail it.

I will have to dig around i am pretty sure you cant go in person now, i am able to travel to the US so i wish i could do it this way.
Will prob sent off the paperwork in the morning , couple of questions

1. What size return envelove did you use and which company to and from the visa office?
2. How long did it take?
