Raj,

When they asked for RCMP fingerprint, didn't you ask RCMP to directly forward it to buffalo? Or RCMP sent the certificate to you and then you forwarded to Buffalo?

Different people do it different you. If you could share your thoughts on it...what happens exacly after finger print intake by agents.

Thanks

Hi guys,

since my file was transferred to seattle it has been 2 months and i checked my ECAS today it shows In Process:

We received your application for permanent residence on November 4, 2010.

We started processing your application on December 7, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Can it be estimated how long can I expect any news from CIC?

Thank you all and best luck.

Hi friends,

My Application received: June 09, 2011,
Got  AOR and medical request: October 21, 2011,
Canadian criminal record check for spouse: October 25, 2011 (My spouse was in Canada only for 2 months. So I faxed a letter mentioning his duration in Canada and didn't do the criminal record check )
Medical done: November 02. 2011,
Medical reached (UPS tracking): November 14, 2011
Medical request for 2nd time: November 16, 2011 (This time there was a mistake in my medical form )
Medical reminder: November 23, 2011
I have faxed a letter on November 24, 2011 saying that I have done my medical exam on Nov 02 and it reached at Ottawa on Nov 14. I also mentioned in my letter that the medical forms received on Nov 23, 2011 were incorrect.

I received the following reply on November 30,2011

"Further to your fax received at Case Processing Pilot Ottawa on 2011/11/24 regarding your medicals, please proceed with the correct medical forms that you received on 2011/10/21. Disregard the medical forms that are incorrect. "

I have sent an e-mail on 1st December and 7th December and told that I have done my medical,  gave my tracking number & UPS tracking history. I haven't yet receive any reply.

My e-cas shows the following two lines

We received your application for permanent residence on June 9, 2011.
We started processing your application on October 25, 2011.

Is my medical report lost or something? What should I do now? Please advice ..
Thanks

You are pushing them too hard. A couple weeks won't be enough for them to process any update.
You mailed your application in June 2011 which is less than 6 mths from now; there are people way ahead of you still waiting for PPR.
Your case was fortunate enough to be transferred to Ottawa. This office recently sent out PPR to later batch, regardless of the order in line which has caused "injustice" in the immigration nature.

To be honest with you I am the one who stands against the current practice of Ottawa Office to bypass Buffalo Visa office in requesting PP for those who just applied only a few months ago whereas Buffalo has limited resource and still struggle with backlog from PNP applications of over a year ago.

Hi Truongan,

I know there are many people who applied before me and still waiting for PPR. So far I know the file transfer is a random process. I am lucky that my file is transferred. I didn't do anything to bypass older files. I just want to make sure that I have done everything from my side. I don't want to get a rejection just because I didn't communicate on time. I know another case where VO just said we didn't receive proper documents in time that's why we are unable to process the file.

Thanks

I am going to buy the return canada express post for returning my passport.. but when i went back to the link they sent me the link doesnt works...  does anybody have the specification of the size of the envelope to send and to return...

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/visas/apply-how_a_demande-comment.aspx?lang=eng&view=d#mail

Mail it to
Canadian Consulate General
Immigration Regional Program Centre
1 HSBC Center, Suite 3000
Buffalo, NY 14203-2884
U.S.A.

You should put the file # stickers on the outside of 2 envelopes, on passports cover, on the height and eye color notes, put stickers everywhere you can on every document you send along with your passport to avoid misplace of documents.

buy canada post xpresspost national 32x24cm, fold it half, write down the tracking # for your reference and put it inside the fedex one.

the parcel should be signed by HCARLAND at Buffalo. Judging from my timeline, passport should be back within 3 weeks (no urgency), or 4 weeks at most during the Christmas season. my case, urgent request was granted the passport was back in 10 days only. but don't push them if you don't have to.

note that fort erie - niagara border crossing is very busy during holiday season which may be discouraging for Buffalo to cross the border and mail the passports back from Fort Erie as often as before. It's only twice a week at this moment - on wednesday and friday - these are the two days you can track your return envelope on canada post website. im guessing things may slow down a bit the coming weeks. by choosing to mail pps directly to buffalo at this time, you save at least 3 business day processing time.
