I would like to know how many people were requested to provided PCC fingerprints for Canada. I was asked to provide mine and it's now delaying the process of my application cos the fingerprints are still being processed. How many people received their PPR without providing fingerprints?

I never had to submit my RCMP fingerprints. Seemingly it has become quite regular with Buffalo asking for fingerprints at the last moment. All I knew was that fingerprints are required in certain criteria. Such as if you entered Canada before age of 18 and so on.

As security involves intelligence jobs, there is no info as to how they do it can be released to public. Fingerprints are used to coordinate with other national police agencies or interpol to find out more info on your personal background.

Why?
Because Visa Office does not always trust the paper Police Clearance from your country, there are many fraudulent documents that were tracked down. There are fraud detector machines at Visa Offices, even the documents are real, it is at their discretion to request extensive checks.

CSIS is responsible for this in-depth security check. So for those whose fingerprints are required, be prepared for a bit longer wait because of your background. No matter how long you've been here in Canada if your background triggers their attention or if the PCC documents look suspicious then for sure they will request fingerprints or other types of personal security check.

They cannot be 100% successful, but I believe they will strive for at least 90% success rate to make sure all PRs are security cleared. If you believe you are cleared, please allow them some time to work on your case.

Hi,

I am just not clear about the police certificate thing. I issued one from back home when i first apply for a visa and submitted to the canadain embassy, came to Canada and never left. My question is, if i have been is the same place (Canada) for the past 2 years why do I have to submit back home certificate?

Thanks.

Like U.S, Canada does not keep track of people leaving the country. They do not know whether or not you exit the country as a temp resident, and for how long, so every country you list on your application as having lived there over 6 mths, a new PCC is required. Each visa office conduct its own process on your file.

Just a quick question, if you get ur AOR does that mean ur application is complete (no missing papers)?
