So basically the first attempt is failed... may be tomorow. I wil go to office.. Now I am thinking may be I should go to raibow bridge when I go to pick my wife in Toronto...  How many hour is it from Toronto??   Any bus/train service from Toronto to there...?? are they open 24X7 a week??  How long does it take to land there... I think tanoshi already been there.. can u share ur experience..

I think you should land at the province nominee you is better!!! And so is your wife.

I did not go to Rainbow Bridge cuz it's always over crowded!!! Waiting time is long. From Toronto, yes you can go by bus (Coach Canada and others) at core downtown Toronto. Yes, at the border, they open 24/7 anytime you can do landing.

I drove by myself to Peace Bridge (around 25km from Rainbow Bridge). Pretty quiet and only a few cars & truck. No waiting line and process of landing is pretty fast. Ask a few question, provide needed documents and of course work permit to prove you are legal stay in Canada. After that, the officer will congratulate you and remind that you have to live in Canada 3 out 5 years to maintain status. and all DONE.

If you come there, please note that you should keep left lane and drive with limit speed and when you see Canada Immigration board, you can do U-turn at that time before you are on the bridge! If you are on the bridge, no problem continue driving to US border and you will do flagpole as usual.
Drive back and visit Niagara Fall, LOL!!!

don't worry. Just wait. As TruongAn stated when e-cas changed, it means VO stamped visa on your passport. Even though they said usually takes 15 days but in my case it was 1 month. I submit on Nov 8 and passport return on Dec 11.

You can email them to make sure your visa is in queue like I did and receive reply.

CBSA forecasts real-time wait time for their border offices:
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/bwt-taf/menu-eng.html

I landed on Queenston-Lewiston bridge around noon on Tuesday (Sept 20, 2011) and there was no delay. Generally, Rainbow bridge is the businest of the three. Whichever you choose, select a weekday and an odd hour (excluding office peak hours) to land to avoid traffic.

You can try MEGABUS to go to Buffalo. That's probably the cheapest of all. FYI, Coach Canada, in conjunction with Megabus, operates buses to Buffalo on limited schedules. So, you will have to book first. It's not like Greyhound that you go to the station, buy tickets and hop in the bus. Megabus probably leaves from Toronto Coach Terminal (right at my doorsteps Grin).

Has anyone landed in the province you weren't nominated? I was nominated by Nova Scotia and closest boarder would be Calais, ME, and I will have to go there through New Brunswick... thoughts?

I was just checking greyhound.. it says $28 including return..  So does this bus takes me directly to the landing office.. Or do I still have to walk/drive from there??  Whihc one would u suggest among three port of entry u were talking about... whihc one is less driving hours..I mean in bus..
