No I dont want to go border.. I will call cic and get appointment for the local office.... thanks a lot....

WHAT?
Can we do our landing procedure at the local cic office in Regina?
I always thought that one can only do while entering the country, I was thinking to go to the border....

If we can do it at the local CIC office, why not? Its like 10 minutes from my home..

My landing experience was pretty nice and fast. I did U-turn on the Peace Bridge, Fort Erie (around 30km from Niagara Falls - very quiet place). At the border, official ask my ID and ask did I travel to US. I said no and do u-turn for landing purpose only. After she check status. She direct me to the building which is very straight forward. 1 row for landing and 1 row for Custom. I wait for officer call me and pretty much straightforward: hand-in COPR and Passport. Officer only ask to verify information, address and ask which status I am. I just show her my work permit. No other question ask. She detached COPR and gave back me the copy and said "now you have the rights as Canadian except voting. You have to live in Canada 2 years within 5 years to keep your status". and that's it. Officer not even ask money I posses or something like that. She just remind that if I changed the address, should call the CIC right a way.

Thanks Tanoshi

depends!

If you buy stuffs from America on Boxing Day then your landing will be refused  because you are not supporting Canadian economy.

From my experience, they ask me to call CIC number to arrange appointment or go to another local CIC office (in my case is Etobicoke) but it already 3.30 so I cant drive there. Somehow they said you have to wait for a few weeks and of course I don't to wait that long. So I decide to drive to Fort Erie same day to land peacefully as its name Peace Bridge, lol!!! Not much people only trucks and a few cars. Very peaceful and nice areas. I would suggest Fort Erie in stead of Niagara Falls.

I wish I was in Ontatio, its really beautiful in the niagra and fort erie region...Have lived in barrie for over 6 years and had frequently travelled to USA throught both those routes.
Now, since I am in SK....I am forcing myself to say "oh Farmlands are beautiful".......its like farms everywhere and nothing to do.....Will come back to barrie one day, thats where my heart is!....LOL

Oh yeah, I visit Barrie for a few times. That's so beautiful especially in the summer. People are nice and friendly. Enjoy the lake view at downtown Barrie. I love Toronto but might settle in Barrie, lol!!!

you should save 30-50% of your income, not to pay 50% for rent. Rent a smaller unit like a room (if you are single), a basement, bachelor unit. Bargain for utilities all included. Something wrong here the way you manage your money if you go for this rent.

I don't know which city you live but that sounds way too much for your income. Seek for advices from financial advisors at banks. If you are new immigrant seek for assistance from newcomers centers.

By the way your question is irrelavant here so I wouldn't encourage further elaboration on this topic in here.

And remember the current economy is still driven by consumers, not by suppliers. Landlords need tenants but tenants have so many choices to look for their best fit. This housing market is almost same everywhere in big cities in Canada now. I am a landlord renting my extra rooms so I think I have some good understanding of housing market.

Unless you want to rent a very upscale residence. But with your income I dont think you would make that option. And besides, you are a smart guy because most PNP people are smart lol
