Thanks Sam

So do I need appointment for estavan. Border. Or I just go there
Could u plz tell me which documents I need while landing.    I am on work permit in Regina

Wat bout. Regway border can I do landing there
Thanks. Jas

1. I will call CBSA at the Estevan border to see if any appointments are required. As far as I know, it is a slow dead border and you can just walk in.... I have been there couple times....
2. About the landing procedure, I have no idea what documents are required....Just the standard immigration documents and those which you recived from buffalo should work.
3. I have no idea about the Regway border, since I lived in Estevan for a year....I would recomend you go estevan border.......
If I were you, I would call their offices to see if any appointments are required.

Hi
Hope you had a nice trip in Mexico.. I just want to know the landing procedure.. I just read ur landing story.. Just wondering if there is any difference in landing at border and landing at local office.  Do I save some time in getting PR card by landing in border.? If landing in local office how do I make appointment? During the visit do I need anyting else than passport and COPR?   What did they ask from COPR?   I read they asked you some questions from COPR..

Hello Sinpguy,

Since there was another man sending me msg asking about my landing exp so I decided to post it here so everyone can read.

No, I don't believe local cic offices will process pr card slower than their counterpart at border. in fact, the convenience of big cities will allow local offices to post our COPR to Sydney NS for pr card printing faster than from rural areas at border offices. It is your preference to travel to a border anytime or take advantage of your close proximity to a local cic office. In my view, local cic offices work more professionally and IO there more politely!

You should bring bank statement or payslip to show proof of funds, in case asked. but coming to canada as PNP you are very least likely be asked for this. Bring all immigration documents you ever had including work permit or study permit with you as these must be surrendered to IO or destroyed by yourself. Bring extra pr card photos with you.

Questions asked during landing are solely for verification, nothing tricky to test your IQ so don't worry.

I see that your visa was stamped last Friday, as DM shown on Ecas yesterday. I would assume your visa will be posted tomorrow from Fort Erie and will be in your hand Thursday as the earliest.

Your wife must land at the same time or after you so you must do your landing first before she can come with her visa.

Best of luck my friend. Your journey is finally over! Your visa is returned to you very quick, too.

the normal procedure is you need to make appointment via cic toll free and they will pass your request on to the office and they will send you appointment letter.

in my case i just walked in the office and kindly ask them to allow me do landing. i heard the offices in SK are easier because they are less busy than calgary so your chance would be higher.

or if you dont want to gamble just go to the border.

if the appointment is set for more than a week, you go straight to the local office and beg them to do landing because you can't wait (for some random reasons depending on how creative you are).

it won't take long, less than 5 minutes, if they are happy with you they will do it for you no problem. make sure you make good impression with the front desk people, never underestimate these people, greet them with brightest smiles and very diplomatic tone. God! That can make you 80% success in this case. if they like you they will help you call immigration officer, if they dislike you they will turn you away or set an appointment for you to return hahaha.

Just bring your visa there, if lucky enough, do landing, if not, you get your appointment date right away. cic toll free is hopeless, they cant give you the date!

Tips for you: In-person always far better than over the phone, especially true in immigration!

My landing experience was pretty nice and fast. I did U-turn on the Peace Bridge, Fort Erie (around 30km from Niagara Falls - very quiet place). At the border, official ask my ID and ask did I travel to US. I said no and do u-turn for landing purpose only. After she check status. She direct me to the building which is very straight forward. 1 row for landing and 1 row for Custom. I wait for officer call me and pretty much straightforward: hand-in COPR and Passport. Officer only ask to verify information, address and ask which status I am. I just show her my work permit. No other question ask. She detached COPR and gave back me the copy and said "now you have the rights as Canadian except voting. You have to live in Canada 2 years within 5 years to keep your status". and that's it. Officer not even ask money I posses or something like that. She just remind that if I changed the address, should call the CIC right a way.
