Hi, guys.
I submitted my application on end of March, and I've done my Medical Check and Fingerprint check on September.
When I checked CAS, I got this.

"We received your application for permanent residence on March 28, 2011.
We started processing your application on September 30, 2011.
 Medical results have been received."

How long doest it take to go to next step? normally???
I guess it takes longer than normal process, because of criminal check. Is this right??
I really don't want to, but I think I have to prepare to extend my work permit cuz it will expired on May.
Do you think it's better to send an email to ask about my status?
Sorry, too many questions.

Well, no one really knows how long it takes to go to the next step but security checks are run from the time they start processing the application. It is wise to extend your work permit, the early the better. Extending permits for same employer can take anywhere from 3 months and up.
