Medical Request Time

If one gets the medical request from the CIC office, normally how much time they give to finish the medical from the date of letter received.

Usually they will give 60 days to submit your medicals and passport (if requested).

What happens if they notified you that they do not require your passports but only clear copies of the new passports to be faxed as soon as possible? We are just wondering how far the process is and when will the work permit be finalized. Any ideas?
