Dear forum members,

I need to do my medical exam. I have caught a cold which started two weeks ago. I have seen my GP who prescribed me antibiotics and inhaler. He told me my chest is little bit of wheezy. I still have got the little bit of cough.

Can anyone inform me whether GMP (CIC doctors) use stethoscope to check the chest? Stehescope may detect some type of wheezy. However, X-Ray report will be fine. Every year during Oct/Nov I suffer from cold and flu.

Can it affect the medical exam? I do not have enough time as I have already booked the date after three weeks of medical letter.

Thanks in advance.

hi

normal cold and flu will not affect  ur medical exa 100 %
stethoscope exa will detect if there is wheezing , but the problem is that any one from 3rd W. they my consider him as a risk for T.B
so if chest X- Ray is fine I think nothing to be worry about it

good luck

Thanks in advance.
Yes DMP will auscultate chest with stethoscope, its depend on DMP if he or she give report normal then its Ok. It is batter to take some antihistamine and bronchodilator in addition to antibiotics.

i had colds and sore throat when I went for medical exam, but the DMP said that as long as there's no fever and the X-ray is fine then it should not be a problem.

so far so good, we're now waiting for our passports to be requested by our VO.

Anwar saab,

I visited India in August, 2009. I got the same cough last year as well. As I returned from India as a result, my GP sent me to hospital for chest X-ray. The report was clear.

Regards.

hi,,
this is not simple cold & flu, bec they usually resolve within one week.you might have some sort of allergy,or rhinitis, or asthma.
my suggestion is to visit pneumatologist to check your chest to make sure of ur condition .if u have wheeze u ill need chest x ray. any how, this is not the correct place to discuss such thing, health is very critical issue, one week check up not too long for the immigration process, so please my freind, check with respiratory physician.cheers & good luck.
