Dear Sunny
As per my knowledge there are two ways to ger PCC. One is from the passport office and the other is from your local police commissioner office. If you want to obtain it from your local police commissioner office you need to show them some evidence that why you need it.
There is one way to obtain it before PCC request letter is the you can take the checklist which we all use at the time of submitting our full documents to new delhi visa office.
hope this will help you i applied already omline today , they just asked me for which country u need pcc, nd my passport,

On 16th june they changed my address in ECAS....from my consultant address to my home address. Any1 here wd same change? Is it normal for NDVO to do so?

you are completely right. I took PCC from local police commissioner and i think it is much easier.
in my mail it was mentioned that pcc will accepted if its signed by reg passport office, maybe its just for applicants from punjab, i ll send u that link too

Thats strange that they accept only signed PCC copy from passport office. may be if rule is changed or might be as you saying it is only for punjab. |

Hi, i had applied for PCC from PSK Ludhiana last year and to my surprise, at PSK, the officers handed over the PCC same day to me. all is done in just 2 hrs. All, i would suggest you, who are in Punjab to get the PCC from PSK only. its cheap, convenient and easy and takes no time. Just have to fill in the online form. No need for appointment as well for PCC since you can walk in any working day. All the best to all Sahib |

Hi, i have requested for address change since march 2012. But till date my ecase is displaying my old address only. However only on monday my new address was displayed. But from Tuesday onward again my old address is visible. And to my surprize, on Tuesday , i received a letter from NDVO at my NEW address stating that "my request for address changed can not be fulfilled since signatures on my fax request did not match with my application". now i am confused whether the address is changed (because i received the letter on my new address) or still old address exists (since ecase and the letter says no change) |
