I'm suffering from skin disease called Psoriasis. Is a person suffering from such skin disorder can be denied Canadian visa? Is there any body out there knows of any one denied Canadian visa because of such disorder? Balie

Hi,
First of all, I wish you safe and quick recovery. I remembered someone before asked about the same question. The conclusion is not. You will not be denied access because of Psoraisis.

This disease is:
1- Not contagious
2- won't require any heavy social care or would be a burden on the system.

These are the two criteria the visa officer uses to evaluate any medical diseases.

Even though, if we hypothetically assume that the VO might have an issue on this, they most likely grant an entry/visa with medical furtherance, which requires immigrants to check regularly with a DMP to monitor and control the case. We've seen examples on this in the forum.

I recommend you go ahead and don't think twice.

Good luck,

I received my medical request today. The medical request is for my me, my parents, brother and sister. In my application to CIC, I mentioned that I am the primary applicant with no Dependants so do they still have to give the medical exam? Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure why they've sent you the medical forms while you said you don't have dependants!

Anyway, as per the immigration guide EG7, p18: 'You and your family members, whether they will be accompanying you or not, must undergo and pass a medical examination.'

So all of you hass to undergo and pass the medical test.

I have a BIG question mark about this request and wonder if you should send a case specific enquiry about it.  What makes me think this is looking at Pg. 2 of IMM 0008 Generic form "DETAILS OF FAMILY MEMBERS".  It clearly defines family members "whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not" as "your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse or common-law partner, who are not already premanent residens or citizens of Canada."  IMM 5406 ADDITIONAL FAMILY INFORMATION includes parents and siblings.  As a single applicant, you would not normally have any other "family members" and would not be able to sponsor parents until you were in Canada for some time.  I think your request for FAMILY medicals could be an error worth checking before you pay all those fees and subject them to needless x-rays and blood tests.

I agree with you Pippin. I received the letter stating that I need to get medical done with all my dependants but I have no Dependants. How do I send a case inquiry, do I just send them an email?

If you have no dependants, then this is an error. Follow the link for case specific inquiry:
