dear all , alot of good information here , I would be grateful if Feras and Ghasan or anyone could answer these questions

Ghassan ,
May you explain to me how you got the 23 points , I'm like you finished 6 years of medicine MBCHB and then completed 4 years of Derm Residency and got the Board Degree , some lawyers told me that the Board Degree equal a PHD and I will get the full 25 points , another lawyer told me its just training and i will only get the 20 degrees for the MBCHB

may you please explain to me how you got 23 points please

Feras
regarding the sponsored trainin , is it true that once you get the canadian permanant residency you cant be sponsored for study anymore ? Its really depressing that somone who already specialised in somthing cant continue his same speciality thiere , i would be grateful if you could shed some more light into this especially how to apply and whats the process?

regards

Hey cooldoc80
Don't worry about the points, these bloody consultants are a total cheat. You will get at least 22 points. I am a fellow from UK,although my application is pending but i know at least one my Pakistani friend who did his fellowship from Pakistan and not only  got 22 points but Alberta  accepted him as a specialist also. And what about the Canada itself, their College of Physicians and Surgeons bestow FRCSC which is equal to FRCS UK and even it's interchangeable with American board, that means if you are an American board certified they definitely will accept you as a specialist.
Stay cool and patient .
God bless all of us.

Hi cooldoc,

Since they accept my file and already I received the MR, this means my score is 67 or above and my points as the following:-
Language :-  10 (English 10/16, Fran 0/8)
Adaptability: 4 (my wife has Bach degree)
Age :  10
Experience: 21 (> 6 years)
Others : 0
This mean I received 22 or more for the education ( 67- 45 = 22 )

Dear Doc Sac and Ghassan

Thanks alot for your reply , I really wish you all the best

Doc Sac:
unfortunately I got only Arab Board which is a local degree if i got the american board for sure I wont even think of going to canada , but the good news is your paki friend who got his certification from pakistan and got 23 point

but i wonder how was he accepted into alberta , through which pathway did he got his specialty assessed?

 Dear Ghassan :

I assumed the immigration office send you an official letter with detailed explanation of how you got the points but from your assumption I see you didnt get this paper?

is thee a specific category that fits the 23points , as i know its only for those with 2 bachelour degrees while the phd is for 25 points and the 20 points for bachelour

thanks guys wish you all the best

Dear cooldoc80,
Actually I didn't receive any official letter with detailed explanation of how I got the points, I first doc I received from IO is the MR.
Unfortunately , I don't know advanced knowledge about the pointing of education level, but I suggest to ask some seniors in this forum.

Regards
Ghassan
