My status is visitor status, and we received a letter in oct. stating that our case is being sent to etobicoke office. we have applied for sponsor status ( my cdn wife) and also work permit status and permanent resident status.

So no we do not have temporary resident status.
What's implied status??

sorry we've been offline til now..

Decided to take a look at our letter and it states: "temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6). IMV/E#" whatever that means.. does anyone know?

This came up in the google search just entering R183(6):

http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/RESOURCES/manuals/ip/ip06-eng.pdf

Something in there should help you decipher.

Are you applying inland? If the letter you are describing means you have first stage approval/approval in principle you are eligible to apply for OHIP.

we do not have approval in principle just temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6) I think that is indefinite status, awaiting interview I guess

I don't know what that is. Just write or call OHIP and give them your information. They will be able to tell you if you are eligible or not.

Thank you thank you thank you for all your help, you gave us hope for a day, which is  a day of thinking positive - but in the end Cry we will have to pay out of pocket.

all the best to you all Smiley
