I have a query from  http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob194.asp

A student attends their first year at a private post‑secondary educational institution in Canada not recognized under this program but then transfers to a recognized post‑secondary institution. Under this scenario they may be eligible for a post‑graduation work permit program but only for the length of time they studied at the recognized post‑secondary institution.

here, by recognized ; what is the term they are meaning here ?

'Recognised' refers to the list of participating institutions
Please find below the link to the SSP approved college/Uni but this list can be wider for the 'General category (I will take a look around to see if there is a link to it)

Hi,

1. List of recognized schools (including Private schools) www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/participants.asp

2. Even for a 'recognized private school', you are eligible for a Post Graduate Work Permit and Off Campus Work Permit, ONLY IF you graduate/studying a DEGREE program.
