I finally got my PR card 3 months after landing!  

Many people would get it within 1 month or so but mine took longer...why? It is because they asked me to redo my photos 2 months after LANDING!

The letter said that my application pictures (yes the ones that went with PR application) had "facial expression" lol..I was smiling.  I mean they had all this time to tell me but they waited til 2 months after I landed to tell me my pictures weren't good!  On top of that they gave me 1 month time limit to submit the pictures to the local CIC office in PERSON!!!!   Shocked Angry

So I did...and my PR card came 1 month after resubmitting.  

Btw the card is much fancier than I expected but still...why they couldn't tell me my pictures weren't good enough sooner!?  Oh well at least I finally got my card in my hand.

Ps. they want the photos of you with absolutely no facial expression..(mine kinda looks like a mug shot) eeks!

thanks for reminding me...i have to check up on this pr card. i have been here about 6 weeks and no card.

If you all CIC center they can tell you..that's what I did.  I thought my card was lost in the mail but the lady from there told me the card wasn't even issued yet.  I called around 6-7 week after landing.  The website says the wait time for the card is around1 month so I knew something wasn't right.  Good luck!

k i never called before. what identification do you have to provide over the phone?

If you know your Client ID number it is most helpful...but they will ask you several more questions that you should know the answers like date of birth, where/date you landed, address, phone number and such (I felt like I couldn't hesitate or she wouldn't think it was me).  They want to make sure it is you they are talking to.  I did not know my Client number so I said my immigration number..she said (she actually interrupted after I said "B"-the immigration number) "oh no that is not your client number..let me give you since you dont' know".
