hi,

I would like to apply for CEC but I can't find an employer to hire me. The employers ask for work permit or PR.

I need your opinion please! may I apply or not?

Hi
I dont think that ur eligible.. U need a work permit to begin with and then some years of work experience..

hi. it says in the application guide, that you don't have to be employed by the time of application. read application guide page 8.

Hi hbic

What do they mean by you dont have to be employed at the time of ur application? does it mean that u dont need job offer or LMO ?

pls clarify.. I am just wondering. Also this person situation, she seems to be lacking lots of information.. Not sure if she have any work permit.. I currently work with pgwp but with no job offer or LMO. pls respond or other experts in this forum...

hi, as i understand, as long as he or she has a valid status in canada and meet the minimum requirements can apply for CEC. for instance, you quit from your job or you were terminated but your work permit still valid. but if you don't have a valid status, i don't think you can apply. but i suggest, don't gamble on it. it would still be better to have a valid work permit.

You will be eligible to apply for permanent residency under CEC program ONLY if Your answer is yes to one of the following questions.

1) Do you have 2 years of skilled work experience as a temporary foreign worker in Canada?

2) Did you graduate from university or college in Canada AND do you have 1 year skilled work experience under post-graduate work permit in Canada?

There are more requirements then these two to qualify under CEC, but if your answers are No to both, sorry, CEC is not for you.
