One thing bothers me from reading the thread - that some have had to pay a customs tax!  Why would there be customs tax to pay on the parcel?  It's a bunch of documents surely, there are no 'goods' of any 'value' as such in there?

You're right there shouldn't of been any customs tax on documents, as documents have no 'value' as such.

Unfortunately for me, Customs accidently applied customs fees based on the 'insurance value' declaration on the courier's form which was solely in case the documents got lost in post and had to claim money back to replace our identity documents.

I also noticed we have a similar relationship timeline and looking forward to see how both our sponsorship applications progress Smiley

Package received yesterday, Thursday.

There seemed to be no problem about customs or taxes, since I wasn't informed. I had put $0 for customs value.
And the UPS tracking said that it was signed off.

Hello Everyone,

I have also joined the May group. My application was received on May 6th. I am hoping the processing time will not be as long as it says on their website, which is close 1 year for outbound application for PR for Buffalo office

Will update the group as my application gets processed. I am hoping to get the file number in the next 4 weeks, which will allow me to gain access to e-cas.

Hello my friends.

My question may seem a little stupid but I´m a newbie to all this (I´m going to send my application in June).

I see a lot of people saying "my application was received in...". Is this an update from the immigration office/immigration website or just a simple mail delivery confirmation?

Thanks!

This is a simple mail delivery confirmation...nothing from the immigration office at this point. I hope to get something from them in the next 3 to 4 weeks

Okay, so I don't want to be the negative one here but I was reading the other thread for Buffalo applicants and it said that only 2 (out of 20!) of the December (?) filing group has gotten their PPRs. I know it hasn't been that many months but 2?? So you can imagine how that makes me feel about May applications. I wish we were all dealing with one of those fast visa offices and not Buffalo.

Hey, welcome! I noticed the flag....are you or your SO Moroccan? My husband who's sponsoring me (Canadian citizen) is :-) I also have a question about the Visa office you listed: it says Mississauga but we all mail our initial documents into Mississauga. Which Visa office will ultimately be handling your case?
