HOW COME THEN THEY OPENED ERDEM'S 13TH MAY APPLICATION

Hi guys,

From my understanding - there are several steps to the process :

Step 1 - they open the mails and check for completeness of the application (meaning all the areas in the document filled out and CC validity or cheque validity

Step 2 - they tabulate the number of points you have and if your NOC code is in the current list of 38 or 29( if you fulfil the criteria)

Step 3 - they send your CC or DD for encashment

Step 4 - they decide if they want you in their county (selection committee meeting as per Alizia's post)

Step 5 - they send you INITIAL ASSESSMENT (every body now calls it 1st AOR)

I don't have any concrete evidence on this information but from the Blogs/Forums that I read, I get this idea.  That is the reason for some persons receiving their return application or rejection letter earlier than others.

So guys, until you get your 1st AOR, no one is 100% safe.

If someone else has any contradictions feel free to post your views.

But they should have given you 30 days time to update the payment information. Its been same for everybody. Please check the letter they sent with the application package.

I am also on the same boat. My credit card has not expired, but my card was blocked due to unathorized use. They had sent me a new card. CIO customer service had informed me when contacted that they would send a new payment request.

I just talked with them and they are saying 30 days rule of updating payment information is case specific. If they feel that they should allow you to update, then only they would contact you. So, only God knows what would happen now. I was expecting an email from them, but now it might never come!!

And they still saying that they are working on May 3rd Application wherelese we are seeing CC is charged even of May 12th applicant!

When CIO said 'they are working on XX date' it means they are in process of sending AOR to this XX date.

I received the letter with the mentioned reason and there was not mentioned anything like what you are saying. Further CIC wrote that if I wanna apply again I should follow the new rules that all, fair enough.

I knew that this is gonna happen hence I had already sent my second application within 20 days of the first application, which was received on 1st June.  I have fingers corossed for AOR of my second application.

Asif when they returned your application, did they give you a chance to reapply under the old rules - did it have a client id or a date stamp?

Documents were received/stamped on 12 May and letter was dated 28th July which does not carry any ID or number etc. on it. They have specifically mentioned in the letter that they have not retained any information about me in their records and I can reapply as per the new rules.

do we have to paste each family members photograph at reserved places in application forms while sending it to visa office?or just put in envelop and send?can we attach 6 photograph envelop to application forms or keep away from the forms?

So, when you turned in your May Application, you already gave an expired card information? What i meant, did the card expired before 11th May or you mistakenly put an expired card date? Did they try to charge you at all?

It is not good to hear this sort of things happening to members of this forum. CIC is becomming stricter in the processing of applications. But let us thank God that you had already taken a proactive step in dealing with this gap. Just believe, it is a gap which will soon vanish, everybody time will come at the appropriate time by God's grace .

If you give them your email address in your application form, the 1st AOR will come in email; otherwise, mail.

Next comes series of questions as I was not chasing this actively.
1. How soon we are expected to get AOR (i think this is the first document after CC charges), if any please clarify.
Within three weeks.

2. I read in previous replies, we need police verification certificates. I have stayed at multiple places after 18, and in no situation today to obtain Pol verif cert from all those places. Is it mandatory to get from all or can we obtain from only one place. Also is it possible to get it online/ get it done from most recent city in India while staying in US?
You need to get PCC from the countries where you stayed for more than six months.  Please read the guidelines. If you lived in US, you need PCC from FBI and may even need PCCs from all the states you lived in. I think you need to hurry as FBI PCC can take upto 14weeks.


3. Can we get interview waived off? If yes then how to do that, or what is the criteria to get it waived?

4. Is it mandatory to give iELTS? Can we get it waived, if yes then in what situation. Dont know my score was 73 with language.
If you can convince them about your language proficiency, you can get it waived.

5. When are we supposed to send original passport? I have sent my passport for renewal and it may take 2-3 weeks to get it back. If I send my original passport and meantime have to visit India, how can I leave US?
They may ask you to submit around 4-10 months after your full documents submission.

6. Somebody wrote we need to submit 40-50 documents, can someone send a link to list of documents?? Also do we need to send all original  or notarized copies.
The documents you need to submit are specific to your  visa office. Please read the list that is specific to your visa office.

7. Is it possible to enter Canada before getting final PR on passport??
Yes. work permit/ visitor visa.

Answer to these questions would be helpful to many people. All the best for those waiting for CC/bank draft charges.
Go through the Visa office specific documents list, and read the guidelines (EG7.pdf) and make sure you are not overlooking anything.

Yup I got late in applying for security clearance, fbi would take min 3-4 months. Still waiting for AOR, is it necessary to send security clearance with next set of documents or can be sent later?
As per EG7.pdf security clearance and medical examination should be done once documents have been reviewed by visa office, please confirm.
There are few mistakes in my form like written NA and as per EG7, we are not supposed to use abbr, let us wait for the mood of reviewer.
I have to send iELTS score along with full set of documents to visa office, its New Delhi in my case.
