My friend has received this email:

This is in response to your correspondence of June 19, 2011, addressed to the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, concerning your application for permanent residence in Canada as a Skilled Worker.

We realize that those who have submitted their applications look forward to being granted permanent resident status within a reasonable waiting period after applying. Please be assured that we make every effort to deal with the applications we receive in the most efficient and effective manner.

The mission in Damascus is actively processing FSW-MI1 files received before February 2009 for the group “Ministerial Instructions 1″. (FSW-MI1 = Federal Skilled Workers received under the first set of Ministerial Instructions)

Because they reflect Canada's current labour market needs, Federal Skilled Worker applications under the set of Ministerial Instructions effective as of June 26, 2010 (FSW-MI2) are processed on a priority basis. By prioritizing Federal Skilled Worker applications received after this date, we are responding to the most urgent labour market needs first.

Unfortunately, it will take longer to process Federal Skilled Worker applications submitted under the first set of Ministerial Instructions (between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010) than originally projected. During this time, the department received applications for more than 425,000 people, and as of April 2011, 144,000 of these had not yet received a decision. This number represents more than twice the number of projected admissions under the Federal Skilled Worker program in 2011.

Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to the Minister's attention. I trust that this information is helpful.

This is very informative mate. The RULE of the game is PATIENCE. Lets keep hope alive
Cheers

Dear all

I have failed to understand the meaning of the 38 occupations listed here -- pl clarify

Backgrounder

Action Plan for Faster Immigration: Ministerial Instructions

How the ministerial instructions fit within the Action Plan for Faster Immigration

The Action Plan for Faster Immigration includes instructions outlining a set of eligibility criteria that apply to all new federal skilled worker applications received on or after February 27, 2008. All applications made before February 27, 2008, will be processed according to the rules that were in effect at that time.

According to the instructions, applications are eligible for processing if they:

include an offer of arranged employment, or
are from a foreign national living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or international student; or
are from a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience under one or more of the 38 occupations listed at www.cic.gc.ca/eligible.
The occupations fall under high-demand areas such as health, skilled trades, finance and resource extraction.

Hi navali,

I am currently residing in Dubai (basically from India), so applied directly from Dubai. All Dubai Applicants have the London Visa Office.

If you have not received 2nd AOR and you got the reply from London office that your file no. has not changed, then you don't need to worry. 2nd AOR is a standard letter.

Regards
Cool

yes i was referring to the old publication basically what has happned to our minds is that we are confused a lot that what would happen to our applications. We had some plans and now CIC like pre 2008 applicants has put us in a box over which they are processing new applications.

salmoalikum
i sent my application and received by the cio on 25 feb 2011
they encashed my cc on 2 march 2011
up to first of july 2011 i got neither e mail nor mail from cio about my status
i became worry and according to the advice of some friends on forum i sent to them eguiry
the cio replied  by giving me application number E0000 then 5 numbers
and stated that my application is awaiting review by an officer
just right now i used this application number as file number on cio electronic site to check my status unhopfully
the surprise that i found that they sent to me a letter on 31 march 2011 of course i received no thing from them
and my status indicate that the eligability review is complete

i am confused
is the application number is my file number?HuhHuhHuh??
does this mean that i got my file number?HuhHuh?
is the file number means PER or still not may status awaiting PER OR NER?HuhHuh??
WHY they said my application waiting review by officer (they mean cio officer or visa office officer)?
really i am cnfused?HuhHuhHuh?

can any body explain to me?

Dear All,

I recently got my 2nd AOR number with a different file number mentioned and the same was acknowledged by the CIC.

I wonder since our visa office is the same CHC LONDON then why such difference.

"This refers to your application for P.R IN CANADA which was recently received at this office. We have created a file with a the file number  pasted above. This file number is different from the once assigned to you by the Centralized Intake office in Sydney. You must quote the new file number in any future references or corrospondances.
Processing Time:
The application for P.R  for CANADA in your category requires an average time of 12 months to process in our office...

Please let me know what it means...

Guys / Gals Please advice....

SandySurrey,

nothing new man ! Minister Kenney will meet the stakeholders, may be Nov 1 , 2011 press release will have its impact. I thought a fresh and analytic someone in place of Kenney would emerge after the last election who could deliver something better than him.

AspirantCanada,

CHC ND has a Backlog the size of an Indian Ocean lol.
CHC Buffalo is much faster than them.
