It is not totally true about the money but the Canadian govt. insists that the immigration fee etc. not be paid through a Canadian bank which suggests that they want inflow of funds from out side of Canada. so yes while the money might not be very important but it does have its place.

I got my 2nd AOR on 12th May 2011 while i submitted my full documents on 10th dec 2010,pre june applicant with NOC 4131,VO LOndon
I think that due to the fact that your first submittion was on 12 May 2010, so the latest BFD should be on 12 May 2011. That's why you get your 2nd AOR on exact one year from application submittion |

Balderdash! It's is a patently silly argument. You think Canada needs your refundable $800? You are implying also that the Canadian government is corrupt. It's not, it has one of the most highly respected civil services in the world.
Try a little bit of trust in your presumably soon to be home. I get angry with the anti-Canadian government rubbish on these sites when you come from a country that thrives on bribes and corruption. We don't! Again I suggest you apply to Austria for a really warm welcome. LOL
Here, the immigration officer at the airport will actually say "welcome to Canada," and you won't have to slip him $5 on the side.

Guys, I submitted my application in two lots and added my new born daughter as new depedant... Today I have received this email:
Dear Madam / Sir,
In order to add your child to your application, we require the following documents:
processing fee for your child (if accompanying you to Canada)
your child's birth certificate
copy of your child's valid passport
3 recent photographs of your child
updated IMM0008 Generic for yourself and updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” form for yourself and your spouse.
a “Certificat de Sélection du Québec” for your child ( in his or her name), if you wish to immigrate to the province of Québec (http://www.micc.gouv.qc.ca/fr/index.asp)
Now , the thing is I already have send all these documents in the first lot and then second lot send new born passport copy.. not sure why they are asking the whole package to be resubmitted again.. any one any clue? shall I call them up and inquire.. what abt the processing fees.. do i need to send it to CIO,NS or to buffalo office? what should be the name on money order.. please help.. i m lost

MIB, that's good to know. hmmmm so you got your 2nd AOR after 5 months from submitting your full documents. Hope to see some more London VO applicants with 2nd AOR from Oct 2010 of full submission. That way, we'll be able to see the trend. |

EVIL IS PRESENT EVERYWHERE! So don't you DARE tell me it does not exist in Canada! Most of the people here in this forum won't be here if they didn't think Canada is a good place to live! The "Frustration" they/we feel right now just show how excited they/we are to get to Canada. |

Dear all,
I sent my application to CIO last MAY 2010 and they gave me 1st AOR October 2010. I took my ielts and got a score of R 5, L 6, W 6, S 7. Therefore upon the assessment of my agency in the philippines I have to repeat my ielts. I passed my result last December 2010, I am planning to take this end of July 2011. I received my 2nd AOR sent by canadian embassy thru my agency yesterday. I am wondering why they didn't include my ielts in the documents that I have to submit within 30 days.
What do you think guys, why they didn't include IELTS on my documents? anyone experience this?

Congratulations Fogo!!!! Another 2nd AOR from London VO....hmmm, seems the trend in London VO (so far) is 5 months after full submission. Like MIB and Doc Sac. They both got their 2nd AORs after 5 months. For sure Marchie, you are next!  |

Sorry that you so clearly missed my point and took offence. Of course evil exists everywhere. I was trying to make the point that the idea that the Canadian government was taking additional applications just to have access to fees temporarily was a conspiracy theory too far. So I was saying that the system of immigration was not evil and not to look for it there. Perhaps I'm a poor writer. My point had nothing really to do with Canada as a whole, though I can't think of much that is "evil' here.
Good luck with your application. I certainly meant no offence and hope that you can understand the context of my comments.
I wish everyone here nothing but the best of luck and future happiness in this great land. I can understand the frustration of waiting and hope that it is worth it once you get your visas.
