Yes, there is. It will be asked to pay at end of process, before/or at passport request, after medicals. It's usually 490$ per person for applicant and 490$ for spouse (if applicable). AOR is the acronym for Acknowledgement of Receipt.
DD is acronym for Demand Draft.This represents money in an istrument that can be likened or seen as a cheque. But this is an international instrument for payment.

nevilraval, I hope Tengus will answer your question.
I can tell that in my case, the CIO and the Visa Office didn't check my current employer. Also, they didn't check my wife references (secondary applicant).
I think, and this is my personal opinion, that the background check, if necessary, should be carried out by the Visa Office, not CIO.

Updated avnA - App. returned. I'm sorry for you, I looked at 38 NOC occupation list and there is no NOC 2172, interesting is fact that they charged CC/DD. This is the reply from CIC... "You have indicated that you have work experience in occupations with the following NOC codes: 2172- Oracle DBA, 2174- MCA Project. These occupations are not included on the list of eligible occupations specified in the instructions identified by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on 28 November 2008." List Says --- "2172 Database Analysts and Data Administrators" I think using word "ORACLE DBA" didn't go well with them  I doubt there are any experts analyzing applications otherwise they should have known that most of the productions databases are on Oracle Only and Data Administrator is synonym to ORACLE DBA..... Don't know what they understood by "MCA Project", but in the end, they messed up with my application and lost potential talent to help them in building their country..... Anyway I am happy they are refunding my money and I am not planning to re-apply any time sooner... Thanks Guys... avnA... |

I dont think 2172 was there in the list of 38 occupation list. It was removed during 2008 Nov change. Only 0213 for IT Managers was left.
Now there is no IT related occupation.

avnA, NeedAChange is right. The only IT related NOC Code until June 26, 2010, was 0213 = IT Managers.
You definitely looked in the wrong place...

Dear Alizia, I am also worried about your status. I checked the list very closely to analyze the pattern of their working flow. My wife was telling that they sent AORs for whom they charged DD / CC till 20th August. But I found otherwise... you are on the top of the list. Lot of other people are there who did not recieved AORs. Apart from you, pinuuyako, del123, Can_PT, Brabus_majid89, brandburg, umair81, Houman, sfateh, thejackson, ny2canada, canada_soon, rgirish are the known faces in the forum but did not get their AORs. Others may miss in updating their status, but not these people, specially you. I think today is also holyday in Canada. So I am expecting flowing of AORs from day after tomorrow. All the very best to Alizia, pinuuyako, del123, Can_PT, Brabus_majid89, brandburg, umair81, Houman, sfateh, thejackson, ny2canada, canada_soon, rgirish and others who did not get their AORs yet.
