I am also May 2010 applicant & submitted my full docs to NDVO in October 2010 & got my response in November 2010. My status is "Application received" in E-CAS.

To my understanding processing times revised by CIC for Pre 26 June 2010 applicants is 15 months now which is clearly as written on top of the table "Based on complete application package" i.e. when you have submitted all your documents in your respective VO.

Like I calculate my time from my November 2010 & 15 months is Feb 2012, but this is time to process it full i.e. getting Visa.

Otherwise if we consider May 2010 then in that case 15 months get over in August 2011 which means we should get Visa within this month but actually its not the case.

Moreover I have heard that this 15 months time may further change to 18 or 24 months... so waiting continues....

don't say that..we'll get thru this..
note that the gov of canada is also doing their part in cleaning up backlogs..that's us!
i don't think it will extend further..maximum stretch would be 24 months..
it's just a few blocks away..time flies really fast..
instead of worrying, pray hard..each one's prayer is powerful..imagine if everyone prays..
everything will fall into the right place in due time..in His time!

Dear friends,
CIC released 29 occupations with cap of 1000 in MI-2 and cap of 500 in MI-3  keeping in my mind the most urgent  labour market needs  for Canada and accordingly they  are giving priority in processing of their applications  at a faster rate .But surprisingly there are about 16 occupations  from MI-1(prejune) which also exist  in MI-2 and  MI-3  but pending till now.So why those are not in high priority?Ultimately what is the real goal of Canada in immigration?its urgent job demand needs or time period  who applied  at what time?Still I cant understand this logic.

Policy is sometimes more than logic. Many people in MI-1 are already working in Canada, already accepted by the labor market, while the policy says MI-1 are not urgently needed by the market. The policy seems to cover the general cases. If they indeed are trying to clean the backlogs, let us wait then. Just hope they will not keep skipping MI-1.

Unemployment doesn't effect your PR as long as you are getting required points. CHC is not concern about your present employment circumstances all they are concern is the employment details you have filled while filling the application is real.

Yes, but you do need to inform them in writing about this change of employment status.

Do I also need to inform them regarding my promotion. This is just a change in designation,, my role and responsibilities are all still same.

Also a news:
A friend of mine applied in 2009 and he got his PR last week. He is a software engineer..

Hello

I too have sent full docs of my application for FSW (Nairobi Office) in May 2010 through an agent. AOR was received in June 2010. So far no status report or reply. My friend submitted his application on same date but used the Quebec method and already got reply for medical test while I am still waiting.

Hi
Can any one tell me where the application status can be checked. I tried many times without any results. The message given was to check the processing time. Where can we get our application status? Is there any Writing or mail address that can be used.

If your promotion has triggered any salary increase and change in designation, then Yes, you need to inform and update your VO.
