Proof of fund

We are two family member.Is it okay to show exact amount mentioned in CIC website or do i need to show greater amount than mentioned amount.If i send my documents to visa office in October'09,then bank statements from which month should be send??Can i show my stocks share?Plz hlp me.

Its better to greater amount. Bank statements of past 4 to 5 months at least. People usually give 1 year bank statement. Of course, you can show every thing u have, shares, land, business whatever.
