I am engaged to a Canadian and we are getting married in the summer.
My wife wants to sponsor me.

I need to know if:

Can I live in Canada while awaiting spousal sponsorship to go through
and cross the border to work in US on a daily basis, or do I have to go without employment of any kind until I receive AIP?

Can I work in Canada before receiving AIP

Can my wife sponsor me if she has $ in bank, but no job?

Do I need to hire an attorney to achieve our goal of living in Canada as a married couple

(PS...no medical or legal issues on My side)

thanks

Hi

You can, but it is possible to be refused entry, why not process the application through Buffalo, much faster, and you can come and go without problems.

Can I work in Canada before receiving AIP

Not without an approved LMO (Labour market opinion) from HRSDC and a work permit (There are some exceptions depending on the employment offer)

Can my wife sponsor me if she has $ in bank, but no job?

Yes, as long as she is not on welfare other than for disability.

Do I need to hire an attorney to achieve our goal of living in Canada as a married couple

Not really, as long as you are able to follow the process on www.cic.gc.ca

(PS...no medical or legal issues on My side)

thanks
Rick
