TooCareless1

you should notify the VO immediately the change in your family composition (by sending a letter ). Please check the link below (Factors that facilitate processing):

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG77.asp

I also understand that you need to send the following for your spouse upon VO's instruction:

1. Form: Schedule 1
2. Form: Additional Family Information
3. Form: Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (Modification might be required) for you only
4. Documents: Passport, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, All Academic Credentials, Experience Certificate/Letter of Employment (if applicable)
5. Photo: 5/6 copy photographs
6. Fee: CAD550

Its always better to send Marriage information as the earliest as this could remove any doubt in future about the genuineness of your claim about your marriage.

You should notify the CIC immediately when the status changes. Hiding the status change could land you in trouble later on as is clearly mentioned in the CIC website.

how long will be the additional time frame if spouse is added to the application because this will delay process for sure.

I guess you better not add her now in your application, rather let the VO know about your marriage and your will that you'll sponsor her once you'll be in Canada.
I have seen some delays of getting PR when applicants added their wives during the processing stage.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.   If the spouse is not added to the application and "examined" then if he/r "lands" , s/he will no longer be a member of the family class, and can't be sponsored.  The Immigrant can also be removed from Canada for misrepresentation.

The questions in the forms themselves are a proper proof of declaration of change of marital status

PMM is 100% correct.

If someone marries and then lands without adding their spouse to the application - then they will NEVER be able to sponsor their spouse. Also, the person who lands will be committing misrepresentations by landing as single when they are actually married - which can result in their PR status being revoked.

These are very serious rules and they need to be followed.

Dear TooCareless1,

Below mentioned is the link for sending a case specific enquiry to London VO :-

www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/contact_visa_contactez.aspx

I would suggest you to pls add your spouse to your application right away because at a later stage you may not be able to sponsor her !! (as rightly mentioned by forum members above)

Hope that helps :-
Regards,
