I see here that I (the sponsor) as well as my spouse need to send a photocopy of our marriage certificate (which needs to be notarized/certified after being translated).  Therefore, we need 2 copies of the marriage certificate.  We have already translated it and notarized it.  Would it be enough to make two photocopies of the translated/notarized certificate (where the notarized stamp is photocopied) or do we have to photocopy the certificate and have it notarized again (so that the stamp is original)?

I hope I explained myself well enough!
Thanks!

Ok thank you!
That makes things more simple. I was also wondering, do I send in the original translated copy or should i photocopy it?

ohh actually, I think we might have a problem then! Our translated copy is actually bound to our original non-translated marriage certificate.  Thats the way they did it here.  I dont think it would be valid if we took it apart, it is their way of certifying it so that it is valid in Canada.

did you mean "a photocopy of MC and notarized attached to each other"? Yes you must send both of them (together).
Do not send your original one (the one with your language).-->in case you need another one, just go to notarization office to get another one (of course if you pay for it)

No just one PIECE of the COPY of your marriage certificate with the certified translation attached. Don't send an original unless it was requested by your region specific checklist.  You don't need to send in two of the same thing. It's all going together.

I think you guys misunderstood me.  When we went to have the MC certified (not sure what the word is) so that it is valid in Canada, they ended up binding both the original copy AND the translated copy together! That is how we received it back. Therefore, I cant send the original translated copy without the original one. Thats a problem isnt it?

I am not misunderstanding. You should have asked to have the original seperate.. not stapled together.  If it's possible copy the translation and the certificate and send it as is.
