Marital status (IMM 5002 and IMM 1344)

Prior to the previous post: Marital status
Date Relationship started and (IMM 1344 - Q.8a)
Date entered into the common-law relationship (IMM 5002 - Q.10)
Is there a significant difference between this two? Just the questions didn't really explain well, or I just don't understand the simple questions..
(IMM 1344 - Q.8a) Another thing is, my sponsor was married before but they are legally separated for 4 years, Does my sponsor have to X married and the date of marriage then X the legally separated and the X common-law?

Yes, I'd say there is a difference in that you might have met your common-law partner months or years before you actually moved in together and began establishing what is now a qualifying common-law relationship. So, date relationship started would be when the two of you began dating, or first met. Date you entered into the common-law relationship would be the date that you moved in together.
Q8(a) - If your partner is legally separated, but not yet divorced, check "Legally separated" and "Common-law" and the date the common-law relationship was entered into. I think there isQ#9 will deal with the dates of the marital relationship (i.e. date of marriage, with end date being the date they stopped living together), and then the official date of legal separation under "Date of divorce/separation/death, as applicable". Hope this helps.
