You should request your GCMS notes. That will provide you with insight into why the visa office has requested the interview. In general, the most common reason for them to select someone for an interview in the family class is they have doubts about the genuine nature of the relationship.
did that this morning .... thanks we were expecting an interview because during the course of our relationship we seperated for a bit and he ended up having a child with someone else ... we knew this would raise questions and have been preparing for this since we first filed the papers ..... sighhhh a part of me was hoping that we would not have to go through the interview process but who was i kidding this is immigration and anyway they can find to make this process harder they will |

On the positive note as well : you get to explain in person your relationship, and how genuine it is. So it might speed up the process, because if at the end of the interview the VO is convinced, your visa will be ready soon after that... some VO only have interview dates after 12 months, at least yours is coming up in less than 2 months, so it's enough time to prepare extra proofs, gather everything and be well prepared, but not too long to wait... so - try and turn the interview into something positive, where you are just given an extra chance to explain your relationship - you will be fine!
