Good afternoon and congratulations to all of u have your updates and all of the people who have reunited with there families or are about to. Reading your stories is an inspiration to us all who are still wating for our turns to come. I've been trying to stay busy to keep myself from going crazy but its not working.
OMG I am stressing so much I have no clue what to do its been now 53 days since I sent off my application and still have no clue on what is happening my the website says processing time is 89 days so I am looking at the 2-3 week in june before I hear  some thing this is absoulty ridiculous
I do not understand how the process can take so long hear in Canada
The least immigration could do is give people some kind of implication that there applications are there in the possestion
I try to keep busy but how can I do that when this is about my family finally being ruinted
If there were not children involved I would seriously just give up my citizenship and move back home

Omg I just realised how ungrateful and selfish my email sounds considering there are people who have waited longer and have been waiting for longer than myself
And I swear I don't mean to sound that way I am just very frustrated

Hi all,
This is the first time I've actually joined a forum. Can I be included in the march batch.
My partner sent in my app Mar 14 and CIC-M got it March 15th. Just like y'all I'm anxiously waiting to get the first stage approval.

@ cgagnon- I have a question, you mentioned your husband is in canada with you waiting for the app to be processed. How do you get extentions? I'm actually going to be visiting my partner in june and will stay til my application is approved. What info do i need to bring with me when i cross buffalo?
Thanks in advance for the help.  Smiley

From what I understand you're american? We we're stuck at the border for 2 hours when we came in on January 9th...they didn't want him to overstay here in Canada for a reason that is unknown....So they issued him a visitors visa for 6 months ( even though americans are visa-exempt) If you have been approved for sponsorship bring all that documentation with you as well a a copy of your application and any correspondance with CIC and copies of your receipts if possible. That way you have proof that you will not be overstaying your stay as you are becoming a permanent resident. Now this all depends on the Border person, mine was a real beep! If i didn't know my rights and didnt speak french ( quebec border) My husband and I would have been SOL. This being said we had just gotten married Dec 31st and were at the finalizing stage of our file, which is maybe why we were flagged. Legally it's 6 months, that you can stay no questions asked afterwhich you can get an extension by applying online.

Yes, I am an american citizen. We got married in nov 2011 in Ontario and just had my application sent in last march 15. I've already paid my fees for the app. Since we've sent out our app we haven't heard anything from CIC yet.  We hope to hear from CIC before june..this waiting game is making me very anxious.  To move there before the application is approved and without a job is putting a lot of stress on us. I can only imagine how your husband is feeling.  I've been to canada a total of 8 times since we've started dating, crossed the buffalo border on many occasions without any problems.  I hope come june there won't be any problem at the border.  By the way, when you say receipts, do you mean the receipt of payment we made for the application? Thanks again for your help.  Good luck to us all!

Yes the receipt of payments... My husband has been depressed and it our relationship has had it's struggle. Now that the weather is getting better and he can go fishing..it has been better, don't forget you can always volunteer somewhere that could open doors for future employment. For 8 times you always had a return date....you see when asked how long he would be staying in canada my husband out of nervousness answered.....ummmm i dunno no more than 6 months....I recommend that nobody ever says that at the border!!! I hope that we get approved in the next 2 weeks.. Good Luck!

I really hope so too! In the meantime, I'm busying myself working and preparing my tourist visa application. I wish to visit my hubby in Vancouver this August. I'm not even sure I'll get approved, but I gotta try. ♥  Sending out good vibes from Manila! Good luck everyone!

You and me both! My husband is with me but he's getting pretty lonely. It's hard for him to make friends when he's not allowed to work or go to school or anything. Breaks my heart Sad But he still talks to his best friends in TN which I'm so thankful for Xbox Live! haha Smiley

Hello everyone,

Another March 2012 applicant here. I am sponsoring my wife (outland). Currently my application is chillin' at CIC Mississauga and from what I gathered from their website, might do so for another 1.5 months! (85+ days waiting list). I don't know why it takes them so long to determine the sponsor's eligibility. Well that was my rant of the day. Hope the patience shown by many people on this forum rubs off on me and my wife!

Good luck to everyone. Hit back whenever! cheers.

Hi, you can add me to the list.  My tracking number says that CIC received our package on March 3, 2012.  Still waiting to hear from them.  We sent an outland spouse application from London, UK.  I have been checking this post for the last few weeks to see if anyone has heard anything, because I still haven't, guess we are all in the same boat.  Good luck all!

well I am still patiently waiting to hear something. This backlog is just crazy. Sometimes it feels like they have one person doing the approving. When I went to visit my hubby last month, I was gone for 11 days, in the 11 days that I was done, they got through 13 days........what kind of process is that? Like one a day, maybe 2 if we are lucky. Sorry just venting, frustration is starting to set in....... Huh

Hi cgagnon, can you please add me to the list as well?  I sent my outland spousal application on February 28th and I confirmed that CPC-M received my application on February 29th, 2012.  The file should be transferred the the Berlin VO, however, looks like CIC has closed it; as a result, Vienna VO will be handling our application after sponsorship approval.  By the way, my wife and I plan to reside in Markham, Ontario once this long journey comes to happy ending Smiley
