Morning everyone.  Does anyone have any experience with the Bogota office?  Just wondering about transfer times from Mississauga, and how long it generally takes to receive a request to get the medicals and police checks done.  CIC website says 16 months processing time, however I notice on the Trackitt website that some apps in Bogota have been processed very fast, some in under 200 days for both step 1 and step 2 processing.  Our application should be very straightforward as this is the first marriage for both of us, no dependants of any kind, and we live together.  There doesn't appear to be any recent activity on this site from the Bogota office, so if anyone has some info, that would be great!

Cheers

Did you not submit your medicals and police checks with your app? If you didn't, FYI, they will send your application back to you, believe me I know this because it has happened to me.

We've been approved for sponsorship, but in the region specific guide it said for Colombia, NOT to do the medical or the police certificate until you receive instructions from the visa office.  We verified this by calling some of the DMP's here, and they wouldn't do the medical until we get an order from the visa office.  We wanted to do both before so the application would be totally complete, but this is what we found out...and since the DMP's wouldn't do the medical without an order from the Bogota VO, we didn't have a choice!

ohhhhh ok sorry. I just had to make sure but I guess it is specific to different countries. Phew, now I feel better for you. Usually it can take a week to 2 weeks for the applications to get from Mississauga to VO office but lately it seems they are getting there quicker.

Sorry about that.

I know, we've been worried about it too!  We're just hoping we can get these done quickly so we can be back north for ski season!

Well if you used an inkjet printer, you could be in trouble if it gets wet!!  Its the humour that keeps us going through this process, don't you think?

a true that is, somedays all you can do is sit back and laugh. At least you aren't going to die of a heart attack from the stress of it all. Basically that is how I think, I can be stressed or I can take each day as it comes, which is the better for me, well you know that one!
