Did you submit your passport to the embassy and what is the current status of your passport now?

                       I can find similarity in the time that you and I applied for permanent residency and NOC code 3113 but my visa office is London as I choose to apply to London visa office instead of New Delhi because I am residing in Saudi Arabia now since more than a year. But my application status is still showing received by visa office. Can you tell me you applied on your own or with help of an immigration agent?

Also did you send the original marksheets and experience initially when you applied to CIC Novascotia or you sent the original marksheet and experience certificates at a later date to your visa office in your case new delhi. I didnt sent original marksheets and experience certificate initially to CIC, Novascotia but when I realised they had to be sent with your original application I sent it to my visa office in July because by then I had received my file number from CIC and they said all further correspondence should be directed to visa office(in my case london)

Do you think it is because of delay in my sending the document that has caused delay in my case?

Don't worry....you got 100s of fellows in your group (including me, struck at RBVO since June 2011) and waiting for the next to happen.

Rest, it was sad to know that since MI3 group (be mindful that we are MI2 group) follows the latest requirements of Canadian job mkt., it has been put on priority over MI1 & MI2....this was an unreasonable reply from S'pore VO & shared as a post on another thread.

MI-3 has the same NOCs as MI-2! What is the logic behind CIC's reasoning, I wonder!!!

Hello Friends,

I applied in March 2011 for PR. I received a letter stating that they have received the application and done the initial review and they cashed the DD. After that, I have not heard or received any kind of communication from them. When I see the timelines of people in this post, most of those who applied in March 2011 has received there MR request or have completed Medicals.

Is there something for me to worry as I have not heard anything for now almost a year. What kind of step I can take in this situation. Any kind of Inputs/help is greatly appriciated.

Hi Taniya,

You don't need to be nervous if you applied through London VO. However, nothing stops you from sending a case specific enquiry to the visa office asking what's happenning. Going by the current trend, you should atleast have got your MR by now. So it's worth finding out. Good luck!

I have checked the status through site and it still shows "Recived by Visa Office".  I have filled through Buffalo, NY (USA) visa office and this is the status from last 1 year.

for last 4-5 months, I was really hoping to change the status to something else, but nothing changes. I don't understand what would be the next status also? Will it show like 'In Process" or 'Medical in Process".

What would be next change? Also, what is the meanin fo MI2 and MI3? How do I know, which list I am in.

Let me know these things.

Hi, In Process comes before Medical Received (after you have actually done medicals) line on ecas. Your ecas will go to IP first then you get a medical request or vice versa.
Ministerial Instruction (MI) 2 refers to those who applied from July 2010 to June 2011(like yourself) and MI3 are those from July 2011 to date. The thing is that CIC is giving priority to those who applied  from July 2011 onwards, thus some of such applicants already have their visas or MR while those in the previous batch are languishing at Received by Visa Office status.
What is beating most of us is the fact that the so called MI3 has the same NOC list as MI2, the only difference is CIC is accepting 10,000 of these instead of the 20,000 it accepted previously......

Dear Taniya,
In process will appear when they will start processing your case, then they will request for medical and RPRF (if you didn't send before), after that they will request for passport. For your convenience i am giving my ecas status, you can have a look:
We received your application for permanent residence on February 22, 2011.
We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 29, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Your application was reviewed and we started processing on October 21, 2011.
Medical results have been received.

Is this happening only to those who applied in Singapore VO or in other VO also, one of my junior friend (falls under MI2) who applied in singapore VO and he got visa on 5th december 2011 and he landed on 1st March 2012.

they need to start processing your file b4 the med req can be issued, so no MR b4 in process. But there are no rules that bind the ecase, so can't trust when they update it, in which case one could even get the visa with no updates what so ever on the ecase..believe me it can happen..

True...my ecas status changed to IP 2 days after I received my MR.
