Hindi ako PNP eh FSW-1 kami... kaya nga nakakatakot parang ayaw na atang maayos ng docs hahaha... sige sana magkita kita tayo sa calgary... my prayers for u too... hindi biro haharapin natin sa ibang bansa pero hindi din biro hintayin ang visa na bibigay nila hahaha...

Hi guys.. sinimulan ni Jigjig kaya makikigulo na rin ulit ako.. its been a while , ang bilis ng panahon mag-6 months na kami dito sa vancouver.  The temp slumped to zero last monday, may ice yung ibabaw ng mga cars and yung mga grass medyo frozen pero wala pa snow.. at yung nose ko malapit na matanggal sa kinalalagyan nito 
Same observation, makukuha mo rin ang mga expressions nila na "Great!", "Perfect", "Fantastic!", "Sounds good!", "Ey", "I know.." and yes so sobrang bait nila kulang na lang halikan mo yung mamang driver sa pasasalamat bago bumaba sa bus... and then samahan pa ng "Have a great day"... and then sasagot ka ng "You too!"...

Sa work.. wag mapamili.. sa first two months ko ay naging hotel roomboy ako, gasoline boy, sales associate sa isang electronics store, and then yung current job ko sa customer service. eto kano at cana mga kausap
kaya sobrang daming "how are you?", "have a great day" at "ey" ako hahaha..

worth it? yes... many times better than life in Phils.. pero you should be ready to face your fears and maging
matapang for new challenges.

This is soo true.. I really suggest the the people here who are waiting for their passports to apply via the net. Madami work. But they usually require "Canadian experience". But who knows right? Ako ganyan ginawa ko. I got interviewed via phone sa pinas. And guess what? 2nd week I have a job. Its not What i used to be doing, but it was pretty close. Same line.

Anyway, tumulong ako maglinis bakuran, yung tubig na may ice hindi natutunaw kahit nasa damo na!! And hirap mag drive ng may frost yung bintana. Kailangan ko painitin ng cgro 10 mins sasakyan. Everything is so overwhelming.. Its our 3 rd month sa 22, and we'll be moving to our new apartment soon ! Perfect ey?!

Generally speaking mababait tao dito, lalo na yung mga may pinagaralan. Malaki difference talaga sa pinas.

Remember, pag dating dito, Failure is not an option. Sa mga taga ontario get sss agad and open a bank account. Pagdating ng statement pumunta agad sa OHIP office. Service canada yata yun. Get a lisence too. NGA pala, I think yung int'l lisence pwede iswap agad for G!!

Anyway, God bless you all! And its worth the wait. No turning back

3. If through bank draft, in what currency? Saka saan bank? Doon ba sa savings bank nyo o meroon specified na bank ang Canada?
4. Saan kayo nagpapalit ng pera from peso to USD or peso to CAD?

Cash & BankDraft.. all in CAD except mga 2k na USD (mamili ng clothes/house stuff sa US after ilang mos)

sa BD kasi mejo malaki ung fees eh.. so mga half BD half CAD cash.

you need to get tourist visa to enter US and theres a certain amount of goods that you can bring inside Canada that is tax free.
In Canada they accept US Dollar as their money too, in grocery, restaurant & mall with current conversion rate. Rt now the conversion rate is
US Dollar 1 = .999 CAD.. last August it was 1USD= .96 CAD good thing that I didnt convert all my US Dollar, just a few to open a CAD account.
Better to bring your proof of funds in US Dollar & open a US Dollar account then just convert it later on w/ a good exchange rate. That was I did last month when the exchange rate was 1US Dollar = 1.300 CAD. So I exchanged it rt away thru online banking....transfer my US Dollar to CAD acct. Just monitor the exchange rate to get a better deal.

pwede sa any bank but BPI ka tie-up ang NOVA SCOTIA BANK so 10 days lang cleared na funds mo sa iba kasi umaabot ng 1 month.

4. Saan kayo nagpapalit ng pera from peso to USD or peso to CAD?
BPI FOREX mas ok ang exhange rate...i suggest magpapalit ka na paunti unti kasi hindi readily available ang CAD need mo pa magpa reserve di katulad ng USD...kahapon galing ako BPI ubos na daw CAD nila may cut-off period din sila tapos pick-up mo sa hapon pa so mas ok call ka muna trader para pick-up ka na lang pumunta doon

I guess, CIBC(Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) Mabait sila dyan.
You can try TD Canada Trust( Some of the employees are racist,in our place they are :-)
You can also consider RBC (Royal Bank of Canada).
So many choices and it's all up to your preference.
