Please accept my deepest condolences to your loss. In my own opinion I suggest you need not to declare to CEM the passing away of your relative just to avoid any delays. The only thing to declare if any status change in your family who will accompany you to Canada and if not your ok to go. Again this is just my opinion, maybe our friends in this forum can give you more better ideas or check at CIIP. Cheers.

eto isa pang pangungulit... i know it's been posted before but can anyone give me the contact numbers of travel agencies na pinaka cheap ang flights to toronto?... saka meron nga ba tayong 30% discount? saan yung discount, sa airfare ba mismo or sa travel tax lang? kasi sabi ng agent namin, sa travel tax lang daw? kami pa ang pupunta sa dept of tourism to get it daw tama ba yon?

Hello! Yes, meron tayong discount at fixed flight fare kapag NEW IMMIGRANT PAL, Cathay Pacific hindi ko lang alam ung ibang airlines. Better ask your agency or kung saan ka bibili ng ticket mo. Pero nung nagtanong kami for the discounted tickets sabi sa amin ng mga agency kailangan daw at least 2 months before flight schedule. Since 2 weeks nalang aalis na kami hindi kami nakakuha ng immigrant ticket. We asked them din nasa about $800 lang daw compared to the regular price na $1,200 ata, but with the fixed price pati children same price din. pero malaki din ang discount diba? sayang nga di kami umabot... hope that helps!

Btw, dun po sa mga LANDED na, ask ko lang sana about how much po ba ang needed na MONEY or SHOW MONEY na dadalhin sa pag land sa immigration? Kasi diba lalo na kung FSW kailangan daw meron maipakita kasi they will ask the ff: "How much money did you bring?" or if not, they will ask you kung anong gagamitin mong pera to start, settlement expenses etc.

PDOS, regarding naman po sa pdos kasi I have a 1 year old daughter, bukas na sana kami aattend ng pdos since province pa kami manggagaling now lang namin na check ung requirement ng bata... kailangan daw ng special power of attorney or notarized letter. Meron po bang notaryo don sa malapit if maagang maaga kami aalis? Kasi babyahe pa kami... super late na din kami now lang namin na notice talaga... huhuhu... then wala na kami time kasi sa 30 na alis namin... HELP. Thanks!

In our opinion, since PPR ka na naman na diba? Hwag mo na i-declare since PPR naman na and waiting for visa ka na, kasi magkaka problema ka pa nyan in case. Baka lalong mapatagal ang processing ng papers mo. Things to declare lang naman is yung persons na kasama sa application mo, like kami PPR muna tapos nalaman namin na pregnant ako, ayun declare namin. Change of marital status, separation, health condition, death, ano pa ba? un lang naman diba? so yun lang po opinion namin.

regarding PDOS, hindi mo na kailangan ng special power of attorney at anak mo naman talaga sya... and i quote:

For children 12 years old and below, the following additional documents are required if the proxy is not the legal/natural/adoptive parent of the registrant.
 

   1. Original and photocopy of one(1) of valid identification card with photograph of the proxy
   2. Special Power of Attorney or notarized authorization letter from the parent/s/ or guardian/s authorizing the proxy to register the minor children (authenticated by Diplomatic Post/ notarized in country where executor is residing).

hello po...show money, it is safe that you have them...pdeng cash yung 50% then bank draft ( ask pla yung bank if they issue bank drafts or manager's cheq) yung remaining....whats important is meron kang papakita...mahirap na baka ma A to A..that's so sad naman...hindi na checheck yun basta nkapasok kna...as per my friend's experience...nangutang sya para may madalang cash...tpos few days after pinadala na ulit pabalik dito sa pinas

We just landed last thursday via Manila-Narita-Toronto-Ottawa (ANA-air Canada) and all the flights were on time.We got our ticket from St. Raphael Travel for USD 900 each per adult and 750 for child fARE. All includes the taxes except for the terminal fee for 750 each. Ok din ung ANA kasi sa terminal 3 kme nagboard and di sila mahigpit kasi nkapasok sa loob ng airport ung mga kasama namin.

Regarding proof of funds, cash ko cya dinala kasi if i will buy Canadian bank draft ang mahal ng buying nila and sa bank lang cya available compare sa USD na availble sa pawnshops and money changer, anyway di naman tinanong sa port of entry if im carrying canadian or usd. They just asked how much we are bringing and did not tell us to show the money, even if its in cash or travellers cheque. Un nga lang ung risk ng cash ang dala dala nakakakaba talaga. kahit dyan sa immigration sa pinas di din tinanong kung may dala ka so wala ring nangyaring declaration. Ok din ung immigration officer wala namang tinanong ung address lang where we will be staying un lang. pati sa custom wala ding hinanap na lists super lista pa naman ako...

for PDOS, ok lang ung picture na binalik nila satin. passport size or 2x2 is fine. For those who have minor children, just bring their passports, pictures and CPR and pay for the fee.

Ok dito sa Canada, yung dating namin is first time na may araw so lahat ng tao dito masaya sila na nagpicnic sa park... sabi ko nga sa relatives ko dito grabe ang saya nila makaexperience ng araw as in makikita mo ung mga Canadians nakabilad sa araw. hehe

faithfully hopeful, buti andito ka ulit... try the novena of Padre Pio to the Sacred Heart of Jesus like what freetorch99 said... alam nyo ba na yung date that our visas were stamped was the 9th and last day of my novena to Padre Pio and dumating ang visas namin the day after matapos ko ang novena ko kay St. Rita (she is the patron saint for the hopeless)... though it may just be a coincidence, i would like to believe that i am under the protection and mercy of a higher power... walang mawawala sa iyo if you keep positive... magiging maganda lang ang energy na ine-emit mo... we are like energy-emitting entities... and the universe interprets these energies and gives it back to us... doubts are interpreted as negative energies, so iyun lang din ang ibabalik nya sayo...

everything has its reasons... as what was emotionally presented to us by tinang_m... some of these reasons, you will never get to understand... so this is where your faith comes in... TRUST that everything will be alright with you dahil mabuti kang tao at hindi ka nananakit ng kapwa mo (teka, sobrang lalim ata at drama ng sinulat ko pasensya na emotional ako at kakatanggap lang ng visa wahahahaha!)... so there is no reason for you to expect that something tragic will come to you... and even if it does, you were meant to learn something from it...

di ba nga, sabi sa isang book, in life, we are presented with lessons (in the form of our experiences)... and these lessons are presented to you over and over until you learn them... so welcome back and i am sure you are a much bigger person now than you were before    i am looking forward to hearing your good news soon!
