Slmat sa sumagot about tickets...i bought ticket at tripmart..but different route..korean air po..kc super puno na ang cathay pacific..PAL?..can't afford..super duper mahal..and my sister advised me not to go for manila-vancouver-toronto.. Kc daw ung service sa plane from vancouver to toronto,medyo pangit daw..pati tita ko,ayaw din nila..pero advisable daw ang PAL if u will land at vancouver..kc ganda daw service ng PAL..

Thanks for the info on bringing and capping our cash declaration at less than 10k to avoid additional paperwork Rene_8000.  Cash lang pala would be enough to declare, no need na pala to tell them about the non-cash instruments (unless I'm prompted, just to fulfill the settlement fund req't).  Nice.  hehe.

Hi guys...musta ang packing mode natin? everyone is super busy, its either their looking ang booking for a flight, attending semenars, buying stuff (like tabo at bedit) and packing cloths e madami pa din palang dapat gawin. Have you heared about getting from LTO certificate of how long have you been driving to get a discount in buying a car in canada? at malaki daw ang makukuhang discount ha, may gumawa na ba nun? at mahirap daw kumuha ng license dun kaya ngayon p lang e on line test na daw..GOOD LUCK again and GOD BLESS to everyone!!

yung LTO certification will help you in your application. licensing by grades kasi and if you have the certification then pwedeng nde ka na dumaan sa student license stage. yung discount is obtained if you have a certificate of no accident issued by your car insurance company here. take note however na nde mandatory na honor nila agad yun and you would end up paying the insurance in full amount. you can check that information plus some other more on this site: Migrate to Canada

that's true. all funds (regardless of form) must be declared when > 10k.  you just need to declare it. hindi naman tayo i-hassle dun and actually wala naman silang pakialam kung milyon man ang ipasok natin. pang AMLA ang requirements na ganun kaya nila pinapa-declare.

ICAS? yup! kaya lng they are still requiring high school diploma and form 138, di ba? hassle on my part kasi nag change na ng name ang HS alma mater ko. so i chose WES, kasi college credentials na lng require nila. nagpa assess na ako and OK naman sa akin ang assessment nila, di naman tlga pantay standards ng pinas at canada so yng masters at bachelors degree ko is just equivalent to a 4-year bachelor's degree in canada.

To all those leaving soon if you will be asked by immigration officer how much money you have you just tell him how much cash you have with you right now pls don't exceed to 10,000.00 para wala ng additional docs na fill up. Pwede naman kc tig 9800 each kayo ng wife or husband nyo. The 10,000 is not limited to the principal applicant only pwede yung wife magdala din ng ga yang amount. You will be asked how much money you have with you right now tell them how much cash only you have with you. You don't have to tell the io that you also have a bank draft. It's 12 am here in Edmonton and I'm about to sleep coz tomorrow will be a busy day for us applying for sin, bank acct, phone and view apartments.

Thanks for the info. In contrast to the cic site, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp . Is the wife counted as a family member? i think so, right? since the page is silent, it refers to "you" only, i interpret  "you"  as the principal applicant so whether you divide the funds you bring in order not to exceed CAD$10,000, still they look at it in aggregate basis. since the funds is required per family basis.

Ask ko lng if anybody here who initially applied as a sole applicant and then afterwards sa full submission of docs accompanying na ang spouse? Kc dun sa thread ko, there is this 1 particular applicant na hindi ni-recognize yun points ng hubby kc sa initial application daw di sya accompanying although she paid for her spouse on the level ng local visa ofc.
 Im a bit worried kc ganun din ang sa akin I initially applied as a sole applicant para if in case na ma deny maliit lng yun refund, binayaran ko lng lhat  un para sa whole family dun sa final submission of docs. Guys pls share some inputs.

hi catherine1967. i did just the same and had no problems with it. yung initial docs with the cio ko rin ako lang ang declared applicant then nung full docs na sa CEM, kasama na ang mga dependents.

Hello,

Question lang po re packing a balikbayan box for freight forwarding... Did you have to do some tying of the box after you've sealed it with tape?  Or will the movers do that themselves?  Would appreciate helpful responses.  TIA.
